excellent video man. Our family owns a large commercial placer mine in Northern British Columbia. Big money heavy equipment here in this video. Our stuff is older but well maintained.
I enjoyed seeing the picture of Jim Fuska holding the large nugget. He mined in Idaho in the winters and Kantishna in the summers. The nugget was found on Glacier creek in Kantishna. A little over 90 oz. in two pieces. A metal detector found the smaller part. He was the claim owner, Mic Martinek owned the equipment. The feds shut down mining in the park reserve area, and were to compensate the miners. The nugget was lost to the lawyers trying to accomplish this to no avail.
Thats a nice trommel there! huh i wonder what is more efficient at feeding trommels? My dad has two employees that used to be miners and said the excavator can do anything any other piece of equipment can do and is best for any situation in a mine. Only thing i think excavators arn't efficient at is stacking tailings so you dont get backlogged. How many yards per hour will that trommel do?
If I already had Money (most likely Lotto Money) I’d do Mining as a Hobby. It would be fun with some D11’s and other large equipment. Like a kid in a Sandbox. I’m curious does anyone actually crush Rock before putting it through a Trommel?
Only if it's ore-bearing rock. If you see rock going through a trommel it's because it has material embedded on it, but there's a definite upper end to how big a rock can go through without damaging a given trommel. Usually there will be bars in the feed end to prevent a rock that is too large from accidentally feeding through and damaging things. -Cameraman
Would the trommel not put that big nugget of our friends down with the other large rocks or is there a spesial thing that does so that large nuggets will be put in the sluise box?
@@lucasburke6099 In the area of the mine no nuggets that large have ever been found. The area the large nugget came from, when they mine they permanently mount a metal detector under their conveyor belts to get the big ones. The detector either shuts down the plant & sounds an alarm, or deflects the discharge to a different location for saving potential large nugget material.
Hi all, my company has been asked to quote for a gold-purpose trommel and we have been sent all the technical drawings etc. We were wondering literally how it works in getting the gold out of the rocks; in short - does the gold fall through small holes at the end of the drum? Does it fall out of a different location? Forgive my ignorance but we are accustomed to designing and manufacturing digger buckets, not stuff like this. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
I watch Gold Rush Alaska, but so far it I wouldn't say it's been about Rushing Gold...I'd say it's been about equipment breaking down, and people arguing.. since the series started. Really disappointing
check out John Bedini if u want 2 do any electrical efficiency, the whole deal could be recycled waste veggie oil or just old oil, @ use it to run a plasma power plant!
For being an alaskan you don't seem to be very bright, ARTIC?.....it's ARCTIC so I would try to remember that before doing another video especially as a narrator.
He's narrating a video showing the equipment he built... It's not the kind of production you would hire a professional narrator and script editor I'm guessing. It's a machinist working out of his shed in the ass end of Alaska who's proud of his work, and I think he seems plenty bright.
those guys on Discovery's Gold rush Alaska need to watch this. that's a nice setup
i lived in fairbanks for a year 2004-05. and i wished i would have had the chance to find some gold. the best state is alaska!

Woha i got gold fever and when i get money i will fly to Klondike and dig for gold!
... streets of Heaven will be paved with gold ... gold-miners, placer or not, who knock that deal back become very long-term firemen ...
Would the trommel not put that big nugget of our friends down with the other large rocks or is there a spesial thing that does so that large nuggets will be put in the sluise box?
I still have this question

Lots of machinists and other highly mechanically incline people are not the best "talkers" there diffrent parts of your brain
