      I checked out the glass shop. About 108 dollars. How much was your quote for local glass? I have a 4 player captain commando that I want to turn into a 4 player multi but I also want to turn it into a suowr street fighter 2 grandmaster. So as of now it's collecting dust, since I stole the crt for another project.

      @@jaygallegos8612 I only paid $65 shipped for the glass I got from one day glass. My local glass shop quoted me $70 and a month long wait.

      Awesome video. Helped me decide to grab the lg monitor myself. If you don’t mind me asking, how are you setting the display orientation and resolution in windows itself? Are you changing the aspect ratio within the emulator?

    • @cooltoy
      @cooltoy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Shreddy_E you can toggle the display orientation and resolution in the normal windows display setting menu. Then in the emulator (in my case MAME) you can set things like aspect ratio, scan lines, or other video setting filters or changes that you see fit.

    Beautiful cabinet! Don't know if you can call it a "restoration" without keeping everything original, but still really cool to know that the "bones" of your multicade is an OG TMNT cab.
    I'm really diggin' those monitors! Been working on my full-size 4-player multicade for years now (cabinet art delusions of grandeur that have been thwarted), and am seriously leaning toward ditching my intended OG aspect ratio monitor for one of those.

    I have a TMNT cabinet sitting in my garage right now waiting to be restored. It was flipped to a soul caliber game and then finally a golden tee classic cabinet before i received it. I plan to restore it fully. My cabinet is in better shape than yours was, though, and it has a crt that still works. I hope to get to work on it someday soon and do what you did... i was going to do a jamma switcher and pop a simpsons board along with the tmnt jamma board.

    Both this and MK were really well done. Your hard work is obviously shown on both cabinets.
    That tmnt is awesome, and adding a third button to play other 4 players is a good idea while keeping the control panel looking original.

    Dude great job and I'm so jealous that you have an original TMNT arcade cabinet! Remember when I first saw the arcade game at the Clark County Fair in Washington state back in the summer of '90! I was 15 at the time and was instantly in love with the cabinet and game!
    I recently scored on a bare Simpsons Arcade1up cabinet for a great price which is missing the control panel, PCB and riser. That I'm turning into a custom 4 player TMNT cabinet. The shape is a little closer to the original TMNT arcade machine. I really don't understand why Arcade1up didn't do that shape in the beginning when they first released their version of the TMNT. Oh well it will be one of a kind and unique. Also it will be running on a Dell 7010 SFF PC with a Ge-Force 1650 graphics card, 32gb of memory and on Windows 10, with Launchbox/BigBox. I do hope someday I will have a real arcade machine and a real pinball machine as well. We will see. lol

      Yeah I wanted to make sure this machine was going to be extra versatile and play many other of my favorite games as well. Especially when something is as large as this machine is, you want to make sure you get the most out of it.

    🔥That TMNT Cabinet is Epic!🔥
    That turned out Amazing!! Love the bright green T-Molding and way smarter going with the LCD. That 25” 4:3 Monitor is Awesome! As someone who uses CRT EmuDriver with a 32” Sony Trinitron CRT Calibrated to 224p, those scan-lines look perfect!
    Come spring time, I’m building a proper MVC2 Cabinet that will be run from Fightcade. Using a LG 32GP850-B (1440p 165Hz, 4ms latency) with Reshade for scanlines and bezels. Brooks Universal Fighting Boards, Sanwa hardware of course.
    Kinda hoping you beat me to the punch and show Arcade 1up how it’s done!
    Revenge video?… 🤣

      Do whatever makes you happy. I think too many people in this hobby allow themselves to be pressured into doing things a certain way. As long as you enjoy the end result, that's all that should ever matter.

      Mortal Kombat was about $5-600 range in totality when I was done. Turtles was more because of the stupid expensive monitor I used. Had I used a different monitor, Turtles restore would have been about the same as my MK build.

  • @vincenzovieri3743

    Ur lucky, it least u can pick all characters. I bought that new collectors edition that comes with all games on ps5 and sadly the two arcade games force you to use the same character the whole game. I was hoping to use them all to change it up so I just play the snes version. Either way ur cabinet looks sweet! This cabinet has always been beautiful and bring back great memories. I miss the arcades.

    I forgot that the original TMNT arcade games were mono sound by default. In the test menu, you can switch to stereo which is a pro tip that many people many not know. I think this only applies to Turtles in Time. I don’t think original TMNT had a test menu just dip switches and nothing related to sound.

    Hey buddy I really enjoy your content. My Street Fighter II stopped working so the MOD idea is very fresh in my mind. Advice or guidance to and what I should use? What would you stay away from? Raspberry pi or pandora? I'm some what computer savvy but I'm wanting as close to a plug and play. Then again the larger screen is an idea for sure.

    • @cooltoy
      @cooltoy  15 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Pandora's Box units are pretty good for simple plug and play without complicated set up. They have models that work on arcades with CRT screens or on modern LCD screens, making them pretty great options for newcomers to modding. Raspberry Pi used to be the king when they were dirt cheap, but prices shot up on them during covid. A PC will allow you to play the most games, and give you the best performance overall, but has the most complicated set up.

      I made my own VESA mount out of wood and attached the wood the the existing CRT monitor mount bracket in the cabinet. I rotated the monitor sideways.

    Any advice on a trusted place to purchase original arcade machines. Don’t want to get scammed and don’t know who is a legit dealer in these old cabinets.

    • @cooltoy
      @cooltoy  7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@DeathSavePinballStreaming in person purchases are the way to go these days. Wayyyy too many scamming websites out there. I know several people who have purchased online through captains warehouse online auctions, but those purchases always have a significant auction fee and tax added to the final bid so you rarely will find yourself a deal.
