Great video.. back in the 1970s in Ireland we hitchhiked everywhere.. In fact there would be so many people hitching on the outskirts of cities in the summer you would have to walk past them all to be alone to get a lift. Once going to the festival at Lisdoonvarna I got a lift on the back of a horse and cart for a few miles along a stone walled country road.. slow but really nice just listening to the horses hooves and looking at the landscape.... Great video. This reminded me of a backpacker we encountered. Years ago my parents were driving in Donegal and picked up a hitchhiker from Switzerland. They brought her home to Derry, and she stayed with us for a month - she only planned to stay in Ireland for a week! After she left, for years she would send us postcards from all over the world - she was just drifting on her own around the globe. Lovely person, would love to know what happened to her, but doubt I'll ever find out. I guess that's the beauty of this sort of journey - connecting briefly at a human level with strangers and then moving on to the next adventure to never return.
Wow, it’s amazing you guys showed so much openness towards a total stranger, good on you! I bet she’s thinking of your family and you as well every now and then, wherever she is right now :)

An emotional rollercoaster this was. Wanted to watch some hitchhiking footage and ended up questioning my recent break up. Thanks I guess.
