Living in Ottawa for 30 years, have my siblings and mom living in Toronto. Up to 9 years ago while mom was alive took 4 trips a year to visit so I know both cities really well. If you have young children it’s easier to live in Ottawa especially for commuting and if in Toronto choose the suburbs obviously. Singles never set foot in Ottawa cause is the most boring city unless yourself is kind of a mellow person who likes it . Ottawa is good for ⛷ and close to a famous resort. Houses and rent is not cheap but cheaper than Toronto, however the cost of food and clothing a lot cheaper in Toronto because of sales and bigger population! Residential taxes are higher in Ottawa also. Oh, and people are always thinking about vacation in Ottawa cause they are bored to tears and that also adds up the expenses of living in Ottawa 😂

For weather, you're making a presumption that people like a slightly less cold winter. The truth is, slightly more cold gives you much more to do, like skiing and skating on the canal plus the beautiful winter scene of fresh snow.
After living in warmer places for a while, I think Ottawa is the best. I feel sorry for people in cold, rainy, little snow winters, there is absolutely nothing to do outdoors in winter. In Ottawa you can go downhill skiing after work, where else can you do that?

I moved to Eastern Ontario from Toronto six years ago. Ottawa is growing on me and I'm becoming quite fond of it. If I ever have to live in a city again, it'll probably be Ottawa. However, ranking Ottawa and Toronto a tie in the area of entertainment is a joke. As stated in other categories, the sheer volume of population in Toronto dictates that there would be much more entertainment opportunities than available in Ottawa. The huge number of choices for live theatre in Toronto for example blows Ottawa out of the water. The bus loads of people from all parts of Canada and northern areas of the US and the tourist traffic from around the world easily easily gives the nod to T-Dot. And let's not forget the professional sports teams in TO such as Raptors and Blue Jays and soccer. I've seen a few of your videos sir, and agree with most of your analyses, but in this category, the fix was in and the bias evident. The Six wins for entertainment hands down, which gives the nod to Toronto. Sorry!

Haha. you got me Steve! I struggled with the comparison as well. Toronto ha so much to offer. That was the first attempt at a city comparison video and it was a little all over the place. More focused on the background then the actual content which is mistake number #1 in TH-cam. I may have to do a retake - perhaps a 2021 edition! The good thing is - both cities are relatively close as you know and enjoying the best of both is very achievable!

The first time I arrived in Vancouver in 2018, I was shocked. As soon as I left the airport door, I saw tissue, disposable glasses, and other garbage left in the city. The further I went, the more I saw them. Before I moved to Canada, I lived in Georgia, Armenia, Turkey, Serbia, The United States, and for a short time in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Netherland, Germany, and England, but I have never seen the amount of garbage that people leave in different Canadian cities. Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, and Quebec are no less than Vancouver. I'm so sorry for Canada. Canadian and Canadian Governments don't care about this tragedy. I think everything that says about Canada as a clean and powerful culture is not true. You don't need to travel to Canada to see this. Just watch some videos about walking in downtown Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, and Quebec. You will find the truth. Impossible for you to walk in a Canadian city and you don't see the dark side of that. Everywhere you will see garbage. You will never see like this in Europe or the United States. It is impossible for you to use public transport and not see a lot of garbage at stations or on the route. You will be surprised to find a lot of garbage even in the woods - by the rivers and on the beach. I wish the Canadians woke up and had no enmity with their country. Canada is the best place in the world.

The first time 2018 I arrived in Vancouver, I was shocked. I saw a lot of homelessness, trash, crime, ugly urbanism, and rusty houses in downtown and east Vancouver. I saw, homeless people, pooping and peeing everywhere and it's so common. nobody cares. I was shocked again. I endured for 3 years but every day going worst. my stuff in my car was robbed in Lansdale Avenue North Vancouver twice in one day (one of the best places in greater Vancouver). late in 2022, I decided to move to the east coast because I thought that place has a stronger culture. I chose Montreal. I had heard it is the capital of art and civilization in Canada. it was absolutely wrong. Canada is Canada. I was shocked again, again, and again. the wave of homelessness, graffiti, vandalism, bad smell, terrible infrastructure especially roads in or out of the city, and above all, you can see trash everywhere. plastic bags, tissues, water bottles, and disposable cups. You cannot see any street or park or public place without these. Then let’s take food...Toronto has awesome restaurants where the crappiest restaurant would probably be equal to the best that Ottawa has to offer. I lived in both cities and have family in both so I know them well. I had a good job in Ottawa but moved to Toronto because for me it is superior in every way. Both cities are attractive for living, but Ottawa is the prettier of the two - both architecturally, and with the "green necklace" of parks around it. Toronto is a more complete city, and Ottawa has a lot of govt parasites. Ottawa has the advantage of only beingv2 hours from Montreal, as a plus. I could easily live in either city, but overall weather is bad in both, and much less desirable than BC. Canada has several nice large cities - Victoria, Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, QC, and Halifax (have not been to Edmonton, so cannot rank it.), but most could use a weather upgrade. Ottawa gets high marks for its overall quality ofclife - especially for families, and Rideau Canal is great. It is bi-lingual, which is also a plus, though lots of govt employees is a negative. Crime does not really seem to be a problem in Canada, which is a good thing, butvthe Covid Cult tyranny was horrendous in Canada! Where is the desire to be free, and stop listeningvto the Faucist b.s., and a socialist moron limexatrudope? No country does parks better than Canada. I like the Byward Market andchigh tea at the Chateau Laurier, along with a boat ride, or walk, run, bike along the Rideau Canal. Ottawa is a much nicer capital than Wash, DC!

@@MILOPETIT that is the main driver but let's dig deeper. Why Toronto out of all the places ? For a starter - it has better climate, geographical advantage with its port and lake Ontario, English language and flat land - all contribute to commerce education and demand from diverse groups etc.

@@ahmedzakikhan7639 For sure, also I'm not sure how much that contributes but Toronto is much more walkeable and bikeable, much like Montréal. It makes it at least more accessible and affordable, which I'm guessing contributes to it's growth.

Svp .
P.S : mon conjoint aime beaucoup vos vidéos . Et on vous trouve le plus sincère et logique parmi tous les you tubers .

Chapel Hill North and South are great. I have sold a few homes there. The area is one of the stronger neighbourhoods in Orleans. And it continues to grow in value. Navan (which mixes into Chapel Hill South) is also getting attention these days.

Good morning Monday! Based on sheer population numbers Toronto would be more culturally diverse. Both are very well balanced in terms of representation but if you are looking for a specific larger community to integrate into Toronto would be easier to locate.
