    man this work is impressive, really, for someone who loves salsa this is gold. and the line explaining the song is awesome! and for the voice speaking the "one", i would lower the volume of it or leave it once in a while throughout the song, having the graph playing in the sceen (dont know the name) i dont think its necessary all the time. thanks for the great vid and waiting for more!! cheers!!

    You have seriously read my mind!! This has been one of my favorite salsa songs for years but I've never really been sure how to dance to it bc of all the changes and especially the prominent cowbell that always throws me off; however, after watching your video is seems I've been doing it correctly =) Seriously thank you!

    OmG esto es lo que pasa en mi cabeza cada vez que oigo salsa.. todo eso exacto como lo pusiste.. y no entiendo nada!!! Muy buen video quizas este video me ayude a entender y enfocarme en algo en vez de todo al mismo tiempo!!!

      Estamos en la misma de buscar un solo sonido y así no volverme loca con todos a la vez. Encontrar el tono en esa canción con el "Son clave" lo identifico mejor.

    I've been trying to find the "2" beat to try on2, but I'm having a hell of a time finding it. Is this song hard to dance to on2? It's the cowbell that really throws me off when trying on2 (cowbell is usually 1st and 3rd beats?). Lo siento, soy gringo =)

    There's something wrong with the bpm-meter... There's no way the tempo could rise above 200 like it looks it does, does it? Is it identifying every percussion sound as a beat when they are actually semiquaver or demisemiquaver? The vertical lines on the sonogram and the repeated "one" also show the tempo doesn't change much at all.

      Because the song change, they have 4 beats instead of a full bar of 8 beats. It happens twice in the song , after the middle sections.

    Great overall, BUT, what's the deal around 56 second mark? That 1 beat jumped ahead & came early. Maybe a glitch during the recording process??

      JAMONITDJCOM Doesn't sound like a glitch as the rest of the song follows well synchronized. I think it's the sometimes used pattern of beats -7-8-1-2-3-4-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-1-2-...
      I've seen a couple of salsa timing videos that explained this but can't find any of them right now - probably one of the first videos after searching for "salsa timing"

      JAMONITDJCOM There are two short phrases that occur in the song. A phrase is usually 8-beat long, and fits with a single forward-and-backward footstep cycle. A short phrase, consisting only of 4 beats instead of the usual eight, challenges the dancers and requires them to break or use some other trick in order to accommodate to the sudden change of the “1″ beat. see more info at www.salsabeatmachine.org/blog/tag/clave/

    Is there something similar to understand better cha cha, rumba, samba rythms? I cant understand why are they based on 4 beats, but salsa on 8. They all should be 8.

      Son cambios de tiempo. La música se interrumpe con un corte o golpe de música y vuelve al tiempo 1. Si sabes aprovechar esos cambios mientras bailas, marcarás mucha diferencia en la pista.

    How do you understand that the 1 at 00:57 is followed by another 1? Listening to the Clave?

      Hey! the easiest thing for me notice this 'double 1' - is noticing that this *BREAK* in the music is about to end - and then - when I am dancing I naturally expect the beginning of the next part - which starts in *1 count* - and also with the *LEAD SINGER.*

    What are you trying to achieve saying the one …i Don't get it ???? I can heard every instrument but the number 1 what it means ???

      It's called dancers count. Where dancers divide a musical phrase into 8 counts or beats and synchronize their steps while dancing accordingly. Here the number one is announced to indicate the beginning of a new phrase, to train beginner salsa dancers find the beat in salsa music which is usually a hard thing to do in salsa music.
