- Texas A&M Baseball and Florida Baseball played in the bracket final in the 2024 College World Series. Texas A&M would advance to the CWS Finals with a win, while Florida needed a win to force a winner take all game 7.

One of my favorite accomplishments is revolutionizing the way sports channels create thumbnails. I've adopted two different styles, one with logos on the left and a game snapshot on the right, and the other with the logos in the middle and game snapshots representing both teams on either side.
I have a combined 4 years of experience as a Baseball & Basketball Play by Play announcer, which is where I learned my skills for commentary/breakdowns.

Texas A&M pitching staff has a combined 2.75 ERA since the start of the playoffs, while their offense scored 7.5 runs per game.

Towards the end of March and into early April I fully expected Florida to not even make the SEC tournament. Pretty incredible how they were able to turn things around and get as far as they did.

I wanted nothing to do with Florida and feel very fortunate we came away with two wins. Great team and nothing to hang your head over.
Hats off to Florida. They were the last of the longshots to win it left. Heck of a season.

@@reiseclark4908 They were unranked going into the college world series, wete six games over .500, and didn't host a regional. I get it they played in the finals last year and have arguably the best player in the upcoming draft. But yeah "Long shots" of the last four remaining teams.

@@auznreplays3099 but then a&m had 2 new pitchers who came in anyways and knocked everything outta the Gators.. so I don't know I think the Aggies pitched way better assuming Caden Sorrell, being not the best hitter on the Aggie batting lineup went yard on who is SUPPOSED to be Florida's best reliever... so I don't know.. Lamkin kinda owned Florida, so did Josh Stewart and Evan Aschenbeck...

@12:10 Caglianone got K'd looking his final at bat and everyone knew it except the ump. Didn't matter in the end, but that one missed call shows how small things can domino in baseball.

@@Jaxcheshire He only got a hit because the ump didn't ring him up on an obvious strike 3. Because he got a hit A&M had to change their pitching approach to the next batter. Because they changed their pitching approach they took a red hot Stewart out of the game and put in Aschenbeck. This led to a 1st and 3rd situation with one out which is different than a one on and two outs situation.
Baseball is really a sport of the Butterfly Effect. Something small that happens can change a strategy further down the line.
It was a borderline strike, and the pitcher missed his location by a mile. Nothing to see here folks.

Justin Lamkin pitched like a pro in this game though. Props to both teams. I’m a KY fan but I hope A&M humbles Tennessee in the finals.

He isn’t a douche. Coaching a team with a double header( in the cws) is not easy. He should be allowed to face palm all he wants when he took a team that wasn’t ranked and took them to the cws semi final.
The only douche is you. During Kevin O'Sullivan's 17 years at Fla, he's taken the Gators to NINE CWS. . .four straight. They won the title in 2017 and were runners up . twice. Last year they came within TWO INCHES of beating LSU. This years team was an underachieving, mediocre average hitting club with youth and inexperience all throughout a depleted line up and yet, when the smoke cleared, guess WHO was in the final four? NO coach can take a player's and hit the ball even when he hopes his hitters take his advice. Fla's hitters on average were just that. . average. This UF club set a record for Ks in a season. For reaching the semi finals, I'd say he deserves to be coach of the year. Stick to watching pickleball. A much simpler game to understand.
Hard to win two elimination games in one day. If the game would have been tomorrow the Gators would have had a better chance. Idk what will happen this weekend but it's gonna be epic. I like that the Vols got to play another conference and not play the same teams as the season. And that's why I think they win. A&M knows these teams and has already played them. Tennessee wins 2-1. Pitching is good but the Vols entire lineup is really good.

I'm pretty sure Florida won this game had they not just scored 15 runs against Kentucky 6 hrs earlier in the day......this 2 games 12 hrs (let alone one day) in the college world series is some Bundesliga type stuff. The Vols are penciled in as 2-0 favorites though, so Florida likely would not have beaten Tennessee anyways.

As an Aggie, I used to really like the SEC. Then Mike Slive passed away and a couple new schools(one of which is not a cultural fit at all) were added. Now I only pull for my Ags and any school that plays an SEC team.

The worst team in the SEC to get an invite got sent home. Should have NEVER been in this based on record. That said, Aggies have a LONG History of choking in big games. We will see if it continues against Tennessee.
The last 8 games have all been "big games". The fact that we've made it this far without our best hitter and 3rd best pitcher has been incredible. gtfoh with that nonsense.
