Hey guys! Thanks so much for watching the video. It’s getting A LOT of both positive and negative engagement which I think is great! I don’t mind the differing of opinions at all. And I know a lot of the dislikes are coming from people that have assumed my stance on Throne and Liberty, which I never stated by the way 😂. Anyways, if there’s one thing I’ve learned about TH-cam, for every dislike, there’s usually a couple people or more on the other side that strongly agree. @@hpharold23 yeah a small part is P2W but end game and moving forward after level 50 to 70 (in korean server) it is more G2W (Guild to Win) yeah you can have a fancy/technically good gear or weapon from lucent, which only cost a lot playing solo or playing casual.. but when you're in solid guild and farming items from boss and auction for lucent.. it doesn't matter much anymore if your build your character via P2W or just grinding...

Yea, it's sad to watch tbh. I am a lot quicker to give up on a game than I was as a kid, mostly because I can afford to buy more, there's so much more options, especially free ones, and I don't have the time anymore to waste on a game that feels like it's wasting my time, but I just move on and find a new game.
People now a days give up on a game before giving it a full go, and then proceed to trash the game like it's an unplayable piece of garbage.
More people need to be able to accept that just because a game isn't for them, doesn't mean it's trash.
There's plenty of games tons of people love that just doesn't grip me, and that's ok. There's more than enough games out there for me to enjoy.

Have you had the chance to try out TL yet? Yeah there’s P2W if you’re wanting to go hardcore PvP. But for casual pve, the world design is beautiful and leveling is actually quite enjoyable, although a little overwhelming at first
Yea, I played the beta, it looks amazing, and it's a game I really want to get into, but I wasn't feeling it in the beta. I'm hoping it's because I knew progress wasn't kept, so I will try again when I am back from vacation to see if it feels better for me now.
Love the opening monolog, and I completely agree. Ppl seem too comfortable looking for the worst in games, ppl, life, etc. It reflects throughout life, like judicial systems claiming all is innocent until proven guilty but as long as the perception of something is shared by the majority, ppl & things are usually deemed guilty until proven innocent, bad until proven good, etc.
You wouldn't let someone disrespect you right? Same as Video games, you wouldn't want something to scum you or rub you from fun.

Yeah ever since young I’ve always found it confusing. It makes 0 sense.
P2W and korean mobile game like progression systems just scare a lot of people away, simple as that.
I think this is kind of my point. I’ve seen and played some of the P2W mobile Gacha games. TnL isn’t even in the same ballpark but people are assuming that it is
On the other side of things I also think people love to jump on new waves. How many times have we seen MMO's come out to super high player counts only for the honeymoon period to end a month later and the game slowly but surely die out and become infested with bots? In recent memory I can name Lost Ark, New World and Tarisland as main examples. 2 of these games are published by one of the biggest companies in the world and still they flop. Now amazon try to add a 3rd MMO to the roster and in my honest opinion I just do not think its going to stick. It will have a decent player base for around 3-4 months maximum before dipping into the 10-20k range and being carried by the people with sunken cost/time fallacies.
I hate to be negative but I also have realistic expectations for the future of gaming... We are in an age of quantity and speed over quality, we spend more than ever on mcx to boost the pockets of the CEO's of these huge companies all the while arguing online about the little things that don't matter.
I have said this for a long time, players need to speak with their time, attention and wallets. Jumping onto the newest shiniest game cause everyone else is and your bored of the 1000 other games you have sitting on steam or your console doesn't make those games good, it just inflates numbers at the beginning and tells devs and investors this is the way things should be done cause look how much attention it got on the first day! Buying cod every year and complaining wont change a thing, but if a million people that bought the last cod said no to buying the next one I guarantee Activision would do something about it.
I will keep my eye on T&L and will happily bet this comment will age like a fine wine.

Exactly! It’s not just games nowadays. Cars, iPhones, movies, tv shows is all the copy paste format. They have the masses in a headlock and we need to say that’s enough and hold on to our time and money. Then maybe they will be more innovative to earn our money and time.

I don't even have a horse in this race as I decided to hold off on trying T&L for now. I was just saying why people had pre-conceived notions about the game and that it's not so deep that you have to paint these people as jaded cynics or intellectually lazy.
If the game is good enough (and fair enough) it will survive without this weak defense you're providing for it.
Maybe that's what makes you so insecure about it. As an MMO it has to SURVIVE. I know the feeling of hoping my favourite MMO will survive. Makes you mad at the haters. Makes you rude to people that aren't fanboys.

Been watching streams about Throne & Liberty since before the global test and honestly the game has come very far and I've been enjoying playing it. As someone who played many other mmos like Final Fantasy 14, Guild Wars 2, Lost Ark, New World, Albion Online and the list goes on I can say that Throne & Liberty is by no means a bad game. Is there bad aspects to it yes 100% but every game has it but for the low low price of free honestly I can't complain. Is it the best mmo out there? No, by long shot. Is it fun with a few friends or solo? Yes, 100% as long as you have the time to spend on it and just figure out what the different systems of the game do. Now could you spend your time on other mmos that are free to play? Well yea thats up to you but the launch of an mmo is probably the most fun period of its lifetime and can't be replaced. So honestly as long as you got the storage and time to download and play the game I think its very much worth it to give it a shot and see if you enjoy it or not.

Also, to add I am really enjoying your content and it is always very descriptive. I will take the time to try out Throne and Liberty soon, it does look fun, currently glued to Lotro at the moment and probably will be for the foreseeable but look forward to trying T&L out.

It’s one of those games I really want to spend more time in because there’s so much depth and complexity to the lore and story. Unfortunately, I don’t want the channel to get boxed into any one game so I had to make the difficult decision of moving on (for now). @@Z-MACx Very welcome! Plus I do understand, it's nice to show a variety of content and it's fun to watch/hear about. I really enjoy MMO games and hearing about new upcoming or current ones. I have also been enjoying New World a lot. I took a little break after the June announcement but I'm quite excited to jump back in for Aternum and start on a new server with all the console players and also delve more into the crafting system as it was something I skipped before.
Something about NW has got a similar feeling to LOTRO for me. It's just very easy and fun to run around and explore. It hasn't got the longjevity of LOTRO currently or lore but I think the Land of New world and the music is quite comforting to explore similar to LOTRO. I don't know if that makes sense but whenever I want a little break from Lotro, New world for me fills that need I think.
I agree with the things u saying in the video but the main core of problem for this game is a little bit different (and i think many people who hate the game don't know about it or simply don't care, hard to tell). Main reason is a lot of people know in what direction this game is heading. i play MMORPGs since i was 6 or 7 i believe. I played many NCSoft titles like Lineage, WildStar, Guild Wars 2 or Blade & Soul. Besides GW2 none of them survive the test of time simply because of greedy nature of this company. Game itself is awesome and have potential to be really good on the market but people who played NCSoft games these past 15 years know exactly how is it going to end. Game is popular right now and people seem to like it so it may survive like 2 maybe 3 years but at some point it's going to be a downfall and many players will hit the wall of reality. Monetization is going to be so predatory and mandatory to survive in this game that only those who spent thousands of hours will stay and the rest will move on to find a new MMORPG to play. So IMO the game itself is super fun, enjoyable to play and have a potential but mark my words, it will be ruined at some point because it's NCSoft :).
Constructive criticism, the game has more weaknesses than strengths.
Most gamers now these days are crap because of players willingness to ignore and tolerate scummy and predatory practices. It called " Boiling a frog syndrome"

I play moba games in my phone and this is just a moba game hybrid action skill mmorpg which is okay. Although I like New World combat
I think it's also linked to current young generation state. If the could only for a day live what we ha with commodore 64 or Amiga 500...😂

But the game has been released for years in Korea. They removed a small part of the pay to win but the core is still there. If you don't mind swiping or being face rolled by big guilds that will gatekeep content sure play the game. Deesnt cost anything to try it. It will be fun for a month or two.

For It's bad bro. The movement and combat killed it in the tutorial for me I also don't like the skills and how it feels targeting things . If the movement / targeting and combat don't feel good to me im not interested. It feels worse than LOTRO to me I play LOTRO lol I'm not saying the games garbage but it isn't for me. I don't like the stuff I didn't like being the combat/targeting and movement feels awkward to play I might give it another chance but I'll have to heavily edit and customize stuff
This kind of attitude is everywhere anymore. You can't go into a forum post, Reddit, or TH-cam comment section without people that are obviously trying to troll people. Is it a mental disorder? A cry for attention? Cool thing to hate something? It's just disgusting to literally see it everywhere.
Ppl have hit dopamine highs that no game will be good enough. Yesterday I imagined playing Diablo 2 for the first time (absolutely amazed as a teenager) but imagine if The First Descendent came out then, it'd blow me away just as much. "endgame" wasn't even a thought or even in the conversation back then cuz it didn't matter. Was the game fun? Yes? Ok cool keep playing or switch games. So I guess I'm just saying I've personally enjoyed every game for what they offer for the amount of time i enjoy it no matter what the herd is saying.

There is never enough content in any game. I consider a game purchase to have been fantastic if I've gotten an hour of entertainment for each dollar spent. Really folks expect way too much for what games cost these days. That's not to say that there aren't some real duds out there but it basically means it's up to each of us to do our homework. Have I wasted money in the past -- yep (I especially hate it when MMOs change publishers and go downhill) but truly most of my MMO games are just moth balled because I'm tired/bored with them. For example New World -- I quit playing sometime early 2022 and then got a new computer a year later and didn't reinstall it. Now with the new beta I've gotten excited again and am looking forward to another 6 months or so of fun.
YES! I’ve spoken about this with some close friends. Gamers are SO SPOILED when it comes to cost per mile for entertainment. My wife loves books. It takes her probably 6 hours or so to read one of her fantasy romance novels and it cost around $25. Now compare that to video games where you pay any where from free to $60 for hundreds if not thousands of hours of fun. We’re paying pennies per hour for our hobby. Everyone wants better games but they don’t want to pay developers the funds they need to pull it off. I wish more people understood that. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment 😊

100% correct this is why the term toxicity exists in the gaming industry and within communities because the sheep will always be sheep and there will always be a few negative toxic whinging babies who the sheep then follow
This game is not for me , I feel bored playing it and imo the world itself is empty. I play MMORPG in order to explore that mmorpg world like how i explore the world of WoW, BDO, Perfect world etc.
I think the reason for people being very critical is there are too many good games (with games also being pricey) and too little time to play them for people to be bothered with games that are anything short of excellent. Wrap that up into micro transaction hell in the MMO space in the west, and people will have little tolerance for it.
That’s a great point! Though I think a common theme I’ve seen with those types of gamers that expect “perfection” is the inability to enjoy games that don’t meet their “standards”. And as the games that don’t meet their standards pile up, they grow increasingly cynical about video games as a whole.
Imo, it’s better to recognize and enjoy those really special games for what they were, but to go into the next game with a more open mind and not comparing all other video games to that same standard. Just because you can’t enjoy the next AS MUCH as that special one, doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy it at all. You know what I mean?

There is something more important than money and it's called "time". Not going to waste mine on a classic "boil the frog" P2W game, which I won't enjoy after a few weeks.
TnL is very good for many different aspects, it has amazing graphics and cool mechanics, good questing and leveling, huge amount of content from day 1. In all honesty is an amazing mmo, the problem is the combat, it's just boring and not engaging, it feels terrible, and I am so sorry about that because that's a deal breaker for me.
Everyone using "the combat" in TnL as a copout for why they dislike the game are kidding themselves. The only thing holding it back is the grindy gear progression. Combat is 8+/10 and a solid foundation for a new MMO, but the fact that you only get a couple chances a day to get rewards in a dungeon is ass.

It's 8+/10 for you. For me it's 2-/10 at best. And the real deal breaker is the endless senseless grind + P2W aspects.

@@rat1223 No man, I'm am not using "combat" as an excuse. If I enjoyed the combat I would have played it. Maybe on pc is good, idk, I played it on console and the combat was very bad. Regarding the gear progress and pay to win aspects I also don't know, I didn't reach that point and therefore I cannot have an opinion about that

I don't like the game but I still think it's good. In my opinion all of the weapons in the game are boring so I couldn't get into it. But I think I could definitely get into it a year or two from now.

This game is trash. Action house is limited to level 40 and you can't even sell materials. No way to to get blue lithograph to craft blue gear and no battleground que.

I think this is not really the case good games always get a ton of praise. There is a good reason people are shitting on TL, the combat is shit and the p2w is not the worst ever but pretty bad. It's not because it's popular to hate games it's because the game just isn't that good.
It's just boring. The combat is weird and bland. Somewhat low fantasy. It just doesn't bring anything really interesting to the table
I love the combat system, the MSQ is good fun and IMO its not boring. The P2W stuff is awful though.

The only reason people would hate a new game is either they belong to the "modern audience" or follow a specific political agenda. Or maybe the game was just awful...concord...
Also there is a reason to hate a game if the publisher is already the worst. Just look at Ubisoft...

Gamers haven't lost anything. The only people that dump on games in the way you are describing are the TH-cam reviewers that rely on impulse clicks to get views. Also, many games have become profit driven vehicles focusing on microtransactions and that is because gaming became popular to the point that the corporate machine has taken over and if a game is focusing on that aspect and is maybe 20 percent good then you got to call a spade a spade. Games are released half-finished or broken and it's up to us to call out those companies. If a game is good, then I think it will be reviewed as so. What the real question is: "Do I want to give this company my money"? Buy a game that's half finished then they will continue to release games like that. I don't think there are cynics and optimists only. I believe there are many shades of grey. Also, every review I ever saw gave both positive and negative information about a game. I have never seen an all-negative review. If there is such a thing then I would hardly call that reviewer a critic. Just my 2 cents and thanks for taking the time to make this video. I look forward to checking more out!
I bet if WoW came out in 2024 everyone would hate it. People love to hate new games nowadays been having a ton of fun in Throne and Liberty dont get me wrong its not perfect but its pretty good imo.

You wanna know why games are bad now these days? Because of gamers willingness to accept Bad games practices. It started with mobile games and their predatory scummy gambling slot machine gameplay and now that it has soo popular, thanks to gamers supporting this bad games practices that we hare here today. If you've been fed crap food all your life and never tasted steak. You would think crap actually taste good. But, people criticizing crap food knows the taste of good quality food like Steak.
Yeah true but with this game it's true. I'm surprised they don't charge you just to boot it up.
T&L is good and people calling it P2W probably haven't even installed it.
I think it’s better than most people are giving it credit. And there is some P2W but it’s only for those who are looking to get involved with hardcore PvP
It's mostly due to content creators and people not being able to think for themselves anymore. Content creators start out by overhyping games before they release. So their viewer's expectations are super high. Then days after the game comes out there is a flood of negative videos because that's what gets the views. They compare brand new games to other games that have been out for 5, 10, 15+ years.
Oh dude, the comparison of new games to 15 year old games irks me so much lol. When people say “Well ‘x’ has way more content…” it’s just like DUDE. Of course it does! It’s been out for over 10 years lol. If people started playing newer games, they might have that amount of content and more by the time they reach a 10 year anniversary lol
The opposite, it's like you've been fed crap all this time and hasn't tasted Steak. So you kept thinking of yourself this crap is actually good. Most people that criticize crap knows the taste of a good Steak. Most gamers now these days are crap because of players willingness to ignore and tolerate scummy and predatory practices. @@hpharold23 So is Ashes of Creation going to be steak or crap? Right now AoC content creators got everyone riding the hype train thinking it'll be the best game ever. Until a month after its release and they'll dump all over it. For the views! Don't you ever get tired of that cycle? Scummy/predatory games are one thing, but the hate is usually around gameplay, content, or other things that are easily fixable over time.
@@cranknnutzwhy should the gaming community beg for things that should already been in a game to begin with. It’s 2025 almost and it seems like we are getting less and less af a game and have to wait for an update. How about I give you $20 and the other $50 when you finish. MMOs have been around for a really long time, it’s no excuse for how this game plays. Who makes up these story modes? It’s lame and all you want to do is skip it. At least make an interesting story for me to follow if you’re not going to anything else diff than the rest.

For me it just felt like black desert (mobile). I never played New World so I’m looking forward to Aerernum after the beta, and this just didn’t hold my interest at all.
So we are defending P2W now and we blame people who want to make an educated decision on which game they want to spend their precious time on, thus labeling this healthy behaviour as "playing a game like a critic".

@@NickStrife I see your points and these are verry valid for sure. I just feel like many people are not giving TL a fair chance (if you do not like, sure you can let your friends etc know). I for example was not expecting much from TL and I tried it and was pleasantly surprised.

Criticism is suppose to be a constructive force to make things better, not dissuade someone else from liking it. One thing to consider to is that expectation increases every year. There is an expectation for an evolution of gaming and progress in each release. The hive mentality is absolutely real and degenerate. It destroyed new world. I have so many people who haven't played telling me all the issues with the game. How can they know they didn't play? The first two months of NW still haunt it to this day because of hive mind opinion. When it comes to TL one thing they did will is optimization. The graphics are good especially for how many players on one screen. Other then that though they really failed to do anything new. So a lot of its critsism is going to come from that expectation of evolution. I waited two years to only play for two days. I am going to hop back on and try a again. But it has ESO combat, its tab target, and the grind before PVP is extremely long. Especially since the Main Story quest doesn't have enough content to go from 1-50. The side quests are why I haven't logged back on. Should others not play it because of why I don't? No. Critism is suppose to exist as feedback system to make things better not to make the decision for someone else whether not they will enjoy it.

So many people still misled or misinformed about the current state of the game. And it’s clear that you’ve played TL and come to your own conclusion which I totally respect. Im still trying to play through the game and reach my own final conclusion, but I can assure you I don’t think it’s nearly as bad as many people are saying.
@@Z-MACx I agree its definitely not bad its a classic mmo archetype. For me that is what is the turn off. But for others who want the classic mmo with updated graphics and optimization it would be a great time. I am going to try it again with expectation reflecting what kind of game it is and not with the expectation of what i want. The one criticism I wish I could share with the devs is the msq having gaps that you need to grind side quests is a huge obstacle in me getting to end game. If I don't get to end game there is no chance I will spend money. So that could be something that would be favorable for the devs as well as the player.
