  • In Japan, there are different rules for mopeds than for cars.
    The two-step right turn is a unique rule for mopeds.
    Follow this rule at intersections on roads with more than three lanes, unless restricted by signs.
    It applies to motorcycles with a 50 cc or less.
    I don't speak English, so I used translation software to translate it into audio. I'm sorry if the language is strange.

    Old video but nice to see someone doing it live, between, 2 step turn is on 3 lines roads (unless a sign say its not allowed) but also in 2 lines roads if there is a sign to do it.

      In Japan, two-stage right turns are made on roads with three or more lanes. It is important to note that two-stage right turns must also be made where only the intersection section has three lanes.

      @@sambar-t8517 nope, i was confused about so i went to the police station, your statement is correct but also from the book handed by the instructors at menkyo center two step turns should be made on two lane roads if there if a sign indicating to do so.
      Also the police station told me i can invade the crossing path of pedestrians and half block it if there is not enough space for the moped to do the two step, i told them they will get angry and also its dangerous but they insisted and said dangerous but its totally fine for you to do it.

      @@mamutero21 What you are saying is that it is acceptable to block a pedestrian crossing when making a two-stage right turn? What the police say changes from area to area, so you need to be careful. As far as possible, you should not block the pedestrian crossing. I wait in the space between the stop line and the pedestrian crossing or on the side of the intersection rather than the pedestrian crossing.

    How do you make a right turn when there’s a Sign that you can’t do a 2 step right turn?
    Do you go to the center part of the road just like the cars?

    • @sambar-t8517

      At junctions where there are signs prohibiting two-stage right turns, turn right using the same rules as for cars. Mopeds are slower and require extra care when changing lanes from the first lane to the centre lane.

    Oh so u can register a 50cc scooter to either 51cc and 49cc? Will there be no extra documents require if you register it for 51cc?

    • @sambar-t8517
      @sambar-t8517  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      A 50 cc scooter is defined as anything under 50 cc.
      I think that's a bit of a misnomer.
      If you register as a 51cc, there are no extra rules, but the type of licence will change.

      Two-step right turns are made on roads with three or more lanes.
      It is important to note that this includes right turn lanes.
      However, there are some places where two-step right turns are prohibited by signs.
      In such places, you need to go to the right turn lane.

      @@pecintastreetfood8570 It's hard to explain in writing.
      Are you referring to when there is a left turn lane within the same intersection?
      For example, suppose you're at an intersection with a dedicated left-turn lane.
      The moped goes straight ahead in the left-turn-only lane and makes a two-step right turn.
      The blinker will be on the right.
      For example, if you are making a right turn at an intersection where the intersection has a dedicated left-turn lane and another intersection
      Let's say the intersection with a dedicated left-turn lane is ① and the other intersection is ②.
      At the intersection ①, you drive in the straight lane.
      If the intersection in ② has three or more lanes, make a two-step right turn here.
      Mopeds should drive in the leftmost lane, with the exception of dedicated left-turn lanes.

    The two-step right turn is the stupidest rule I've ever heard of. If you need to turn right, you should be in the right hand lane not the left hand lane where people are turning left. If you put your right turn signal on then turn left, this can cause an accident. That rule was made by Very Stupid people.

    • @sambar-t8517
      @sambar-t8517  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for commenting.
      The law classifies mopeds by displacement, so the maximum speed is 30km/h no matter how much horsepower they have. And the rule of two-step right turn applies.
      It seems to work well for an unpowered moped like the DiBlasi R7, but for a high-powered moped, it could be dangerous.
