I’m not sure if this covers everything, but here is some of the advice Rabbi Mizrachi gave towards the end of the Shiur (not in order): To focus on one topic, and not jump between topics To follow one main opinion that is compatible with you, and not jump between opinions regularly To be pure when learning, netilat yadaim and mikveh To be on time to sderim and shiurim To wake up early and stay late Not to eat too much Not to learn in prakim- in spurts: mishlei: “noaf isha chasar lev” To learn from real text, and ahsuri is better To learn with singing To toil over the Torah, to break oneself over it To give cavod to talmidei chachamim Never to rate the Torah that some of it is more important than other parts Never to get angry Not to care in vain matters Not to leave open books and leave Accept suffering with love
Thank you so much Rabbi sir. I was seeking to contact you about how to learn Torah. I am glad I got answers to all my doubts. I am always highly inspired by your great lectures. I pray Hashem to make me your assistant soon. If I die young I pray to Hashem to make me your son.
If you really want to do it right, learn basic Hebrew, then write out the Torah starting with Beresheet (Genesis) in the original Hebrew letters, (the letters do not have to be perfect) not the letters that were made for writing Hebrew.. You not only learn it, but the big thing is, you receive the mysticism. If you already know some Hebrew, write a few sentences every day, (write the vowels out so that you can read it, put the translation of each word above the words that you don't know, then read what you wrote. You have to read out aloud what you read for the full effect. Do this for 5 to 10 minutes a day and see how you feel.
I love when you say "sombrero" my chief Rabbi!
