The reason "Film me now" sounds like "Feelin me now" is because of the members having Korean accents when they say some words in English. Korean does not have any words with L followed by M like the word 'film' so they say fill-em instead of film like we do. They are not really saying it "wrong" because the English word 'film' is used in Korea. They just have their own way to say it. Kind of like how we use a LOT of Spanish words in English, but we don't always say them the Spanish way. When you get to the song "Fake Love" you will hear another Konglish pronunciation of an English word that's commonly used in Korea, "Fake". The Korean way to say it is more like "pay-kuh". Again, not wrong, just their own way to say it.
Things to note: This is off an album series, The Map of the Soul series, based on Jungian Psychology, where they deep dive into their shadow selves, their challenges, their identities, etc. This song is about the burnout they were suffering from their breakneck pace of work for 10 years at this point (counting their trainee time) and about their fear of losing their passion for their art. It is based around the concept of a Black Swan, a sudden and life changing dire event, and the film of the same name, about a dancer driven to madness by the immense pressures of her work. Incorporated in the lyrics is a reference to the quote by famous dancer Martha Graham: “A dancer dies twice - once when they stop dancing, and this first death is the more painful.” Notice how the sound production is compressed on the vocals, almost sounding underwater. This is a repeating theme in the song, pressure, and being at the bottom of the ocean. The lyrics reference being on the ocean floor, sinking slowly, feet being stuck, and two members (Jimin and Jungkook) are wearing corsets that echo this idea of being constricted. Also notice how the beat is like an overwhelming heartbeat throughout, and the lyrics reference their hearts beating loudly in their ears (bump bump bump) as though with fear. They really are genius at production. Suga has a song where the whole percussion is basketball sounds (ball dribbling, sneaker squeaks, his breathing, etc.) Shadows have a looming physical presence in this MV. They are large and animated in the beginning, not under their control and they grow more under their control throughout the song. They represent their fears. Jin's reflections in the mirrors also do not move with him, similarly, not under his control. There is a solo song from this album series called Shadow, by Suga, where he also explores his fears as an artist. Notice how, at the start they are small and alone under a large balance of black space above them like dark sea. They are alone in the dark, and the visuals echo the later lyrics about being on the ocean floor. They are also barefoot on stage, which is both in keeping with the contemporary style of the dancing here, and also lends a further sense of vulnerability. The dance moves include swan moves, and moves showing desperation, sadness, struggle and despair. They start in white with touches of black on their outfits and starkly lit under a spotlight, and they end in all black, as just silhouettes. Through the MV they slowly incorporate their shadows and fears back into themselves instead of having them looming over them. Map of the Soul was meant to kick off an already sold-out world tour - until the pandemic came crashing down on all of our heads. That set off its own, different existential crisis for the guys. In the wake of that struggle, we got the previously unplanned English singles as well as My Universe collab with Coldplay, and the pandemic album BE, where they explore their pandemic thoughts and feelings, including confusion, grief, togetherness and hope, plus a shot of uplifting vibes with Dynamite. Jimin's later solo album Face is also all his pandemic stories and struggles. This MV was filmed at the beautiful and historic Los Angeles Theater.
You can explore other KPop if you wants to, and more power to you. But don't expect to find anything like BTS. There are some great artists, some fun songs, things to love. Just not this total package.
"This beat is so good" . Exactly. That's why we recommended it. That's why it's an Army favorite. Would you ever think a Korean Kpop group would combine a contemporary dance with beats??? No. You ranked Black Swan in your Top 3. Of course. Makes perfect sense. Can you guess which guy is one of the guys with dance experience?
@@PoyZennLIVEit's Jimin. He is a professional contemporary and modern dancer. He also masters hiphop and other genres. Jimin and Jhope are the main dancers of the group.
The full length piece, " Blood, Sweat & Tears ", is an epic, richly appointed, deeply cerebral, cinematic masterpiece, that is NOT to be ignored, in any BTS "intro to" line-up.
With "Black Swan," BTS divulge their most harrowing shadow yet, one that any person who lives for making art faces: losing the passion for creating. "A dancer dies twice - once when they stop dancing, and this first death is the more painful." Martha Graham. This quote is at the root of the sentiments inlaid in "Black Swan." Much like a dancer feels purposeless when they can no longer express themselves through dance, BTS contends that the day that music no longer fills them with the same passionate fire as before, or even if there came a day when they stopped creating music - what they feel is their life's purpose - it would feel like death. RM sings, "If this can no longer resonate / No longer make my heart vibrate / Then this may be how I die my first death." Once again, BTS affirm that despite their countless record-breaking accolades, the wealth they've amassed, and their ever-increasing fame, they are artists. What means most to them is the art - music, visuals, dances - that they create. 💜
I've seen dancers and musicians cry reacting to this song. They talk about how rare it is to get music on this subject matter because it's so very vulnerable and so raw and honest, but how this is a universal fear of artists and creatives.
Bts is a sort of therapy! You can feel every kind of emotions.. I didn't even love rap before, but these guys make me love it because they have such a way to switch on your feelings.
Black Swan is one of my favorites. Because of the Korean accent it sounds like they say "Feeling me now" but it's actually "Film me now". A new subscriber here, I'm loving your reactions🙂💜
To add to your comment: I have read that the "Film me now" refers to the fact that BTS has spent 1/3 to 1/2 of their lives in front of the camera. Knowing that, in conjunction with the rest of the song, makes the phrase make sense.
It's just their pronouncation the way they are saying 'Film me now.' . The track is about their real fear of losing their passion for their art eg Song writing, Composing, Producing, Rapping, Singing, Dancing even just going up on stage'. So they are saying, in case I don't conquer it keep Filming me, do it now. This was a real fear for them at one point when they were so exhausted they nearly disbanded but all the needed was a couple of weeks rest. The Shadow dancing and you see it huge at the end is that Fear it's a Psychological idea theory of were we hide are deepest darkest thoughts and Fears. At the end the Shadow falls away to nothing in a way it's showing that they did conquer their real Fear that they might lose their passion for their art. It's also reflective of the famous quote by the famous Dancer Matha Graham, "A Dancer dies twice, once when they stop dancing and his is the most painful death'.
Wait til you start checking out their solo work.Jung Kook, Suga doing his solo work as Agust and Jimin. I knew really only about Dynamite and Butter. Then JK’s song dominated the airwaves. He led me to Agust D which led me down the BTS rabbit hole. They are all individually talented and I would argue one of the best bands in the world.
Thanks for liking the epic beauty that is Black Swan. "Filum" is the Korean pronunciation of the English word film. In fact in Highland Scottish, we often say fillum, because in Gaeiic that is how the word is pronounced, and even though I'm not a Gaelic speaker, that is how our region says the word and so of course .... I always think that the reason BTS say "film me know" is slightly ironic/sarcastic, because SO MUCH of their life is filmed - to the extent that they no longer really notice cameras when they are not meant to be interacting with them. I also think that the success of much of their content on YT etc relies on the obviously excellent relationship with the camera staff as well as designers and make up staff. Honestly, it's heartwarming.
Check out BTS "Dope" and "Dionysus"...they're really good, as well. Great dance routines, great beat, and a bit more Korean language in them than some of their more English audience songs.
Wait till you hear magic shop live performance and No more dream as well. No more dream is their debut song thier very first song and omg it's a game changer for sure.
[3:20] Close captions are right - it is "Film me now" but it is word play to 'feel me now' (what it sounds like?) - these people live camera to their face about 20/7/360. They literally have 4 hours of sleep on a (bad) day, _often_ - sometimes none for days on end "I remember we did not sleep like three days before that comeback as we were rehearsing endlessly" - and 5 vacation days in a year. Film me now is the correct lyric. It's just their accent that make it sound different. There's another song you will hear where they seem to be saying the word money but that is just the Korean word they're saying for "more"

BTS's "Black Swan" is a mesmerizing masterpiece that delves into the complexities of artistic expression and the fear of losing passion. The haunting melody, poignant lyrics, and powerful choreography combine to create a captivating experience that leaves a lasting impression on listeners. It's a testament to BTS's ability to push boundaries and explore deeper themes through their music.

sometimes it is your mood and what is happening in your life that makes the songs go up and down of your favorites ranking. even the same song can mean different things to you at different times because there is so many layers to each song. welcome to the BTS rabbit hole. 😂
You have asked about other groups.... i would recommend Mamamoo "Aya" (4 woman powerhouse of vocals and visuals) The Rose "Back to me" (a K-rock band) DPR Ian "Don't go insane" (a soloist) All of them write their own songs and are very talented. You will find many ARMY have respect for these artists.
I'm enjoying your journey.. It's hard to pick a favorite because they're all good..I can't wait until you get to "ddaeng, Ugh, or even the cyphers 1 - 4💜💜💜💜
Okay so I just found your reactions, it’s always fun to watch someone new ‘discover’ our wonderful 7. Here’s a thought, I don’t think you can have a number one ranked song with BTS, they are so diverse and their lyrics are profound, and then there are unit songs - I can just about have a top 20 and some songs that I need on a particular day…enjoy your journey!
Closed captions are not wrong. You hear them say the words to the song and think it’s feeling. The close caption this correct. Also, if you’re looking for sounds more towards their English versions, then you might as well just stop now because that is not what they do. They have different genres that they sing and as fans, we enjoy their catalog and although we guide people to certain genres we would rather you guys listen to their catalog instead of just picking and choosing certain genres out of it. They are not the typical Kpop group, and they are beyond the expectation of what most people expect out of them.
N’hésite pas à regarder Dope , Fire ou fake love et si tu souhaite voir une performance live , Attack on Bangtan la performance au Japon est juste incroyable , ils ont une énergie de dingue c’est fou
I think you would enjoy DPR Ian. I recommended him on your KPop journey. He is an all rounder, writes, produces, composes. He is on a small label he started with a few other artists. He also is a director and video editor and does his own MVs, which are trippy dives into "The Other Side." Much of his music explores his mental health struggles. He is very open about his BPD, anxiety and other issues. I quite enjoy his EDM lofi sound, when I take the occasional break from my endless BTS playlist. He is also a mold breaker in KPop.
Oh, and his music is in English. He is from Australia. But his label is in S Korea. He is ethnically Korean and he started with a KPop group that didn't work out and then became a soloist.
Hi, on Twich I said I have to go 23,40 and 2 hours later I will come back. So I am back and watched this. Now you know one of the dancers 😊 And I think the other song will be "Blood Sweat and Tears". There is no song like Black Swan. BTS songs are always so unique and different. First I did not like all songs. But after 3,5 years there are only a few that I don't like. The songs from the Rapline are not so mine. I hope you react to Taes (Kim Taehyung/V) Solo Album. It came out last september. And aftee that he had a Duet with UMI on his birthday 30.12.23 "Wherever U R". Then in january he acted in IUs video "Love wins all" and last Friday he released his new single "Fri(end)s". I love him so much. For me he has the best voice. 💜😊💜🥰💜😊💜
Song recommendation: Stay Alive (it is an OST but video doesn’t have full song) Link to lyric video: th-cam.com/video/y3M5xsmgK6M/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ubdFFXjLnIeE0LBw
I thought it was "killing me now"? The song is about the death of an artist when they can no longer do their art. The story is that a group of swans threw out one member and that member died their first death. There's even a movie from years ago that a group of white swans threw out the black one. In the movie they were ballet dancers.

Fun fact: most Irish people also pronounce film as “fill-em”. Linguistics be linguisting. 😋
As you say, it’s not wrong. It’s an accent thing.

Incorporated in the lyrics is a reference to the quote by famous dancer Martha Graham: “A dancer dies twice - once when they stop dancing, and this first death is the more painful.”
Notice how the sound production is compressed on the vocals, almost sounding underwater. Suga has a song where the whole percussion is basketball sounds (ball dribbling, sneaker squeaks, his breathing, etc.)

I always say that my favorite BTS song is whichever one is playing right now!😊
I feel like Blood Sweat & Tears, and Spring Day follow this vibe…..
Thank you so much I really appreciate this !
This Song is AMAZING!!!! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜...
A gente vê qdo o BTS te pega de jeito... Kkkk.... Welcome to The ARMY!!! 😅😅😅😅😅... 🫰🏼💜💜💜💜
JUNG KOOK "EUPHORIA "LIVE PERFORMANCE,REACTION PLEASE
sometimes it is your mood and what is happening in your life that makes the songs go up and down of your favorites ranking. even the same song can mean different things to you at different times because there is so many layers to each song. welcome to the BTS rabbit hole. 😂
You have asked about other groups.... i would recommend
Mamamoo "Aya" (4 woman powerhouse of vocals and visuals)
The Rose "Back to me" (a K-rock band)
DPR Ian "Don't go insane" (a soloist)
All of them write their own songs and are very talented.
You will find many ARMY have respect for these artists.
I just mentioned DPR Ian! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 And Mamamoo is the only girl group I stan!!
3:30 official close capions are always correct, that lyric goes with the theme of the song
Thank you 💜
BTS -Permission to dance live performance, reaction
💜one of my favorites ❤
I came to watch this after Fake Love reaction 💜
More BTS please... Fake Love,Dimple, Pied Piper Live
💜💜💜💜💜💜💜One of my favorites, too!
Please react to Blood, Sweat and Tears. I think you will fall in love with this one.
The Rose: listen to Sorry, Alive, Sour, you're beautiful, Red, She's in the rain.
Also check out their song Run bts esp the choreography!🔥
You rating already is funny. They have sooooo many songs. Good luck on you’re journey. Would love to see what you think of their old stuff.
😂😂😂😂 tysm I appreciate it and hope to have you join me on the journey
The more songs you listen to, the harder it will be to choose hahaha
Closed captions are not wrong. You hear them say the words to the song and think it’s feeling. The close caption this correct. Also, if you’re looking for sounds more towards their English versions, then you might as well just stop now because that is not what they do. They have different genres that they sing and as fans, we enjoy their catalog and although we guide people to certain genres we would rather you guys listen to their catalog instead of just picking and choosing certain genres out of it. They are not the typical Kpop group, and they are beyond the expectation of what most people expect out of them.
jungkook king 😢❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
In korean english the M cant stand alone. So it's like they say filume.. but it means film
Blood sweat and tears
Hi, on Twich I said I have to go 23,40 and 2 hours later I will come back. So I am back and watched this. Now you know one of the dancers 😊
And I think the other song will be "Blood Sweat and Tears".
💜😊💜🥰💜😊💜

Yeah, asking army to pick a favorite song is torture for us 😂😂😂
I thought it was "killing me now"? The song is about the death of an artist when they can no longer do their art. The story is that a group of swans threw out one member and that member died their first death. There's even a movie from years ago that a group of white swans threw out the black one. In the movie they were ballet dancers.
Idol. Take a look. 💜💜💜and the MV that explains it.
You should hear "So What" live! It is an underrated song but it will make you feel good. But, you have to read the lyrics first.😄
PLEASE WATCH THE MV "NOT TODAY". YOU WILL LIKE IT FOR SURE.
Should check out War of Hormones
Watch Black Swan Live, PoyZenn, even more spectacular ❤
