- Soft floor repair on Ultralite camper using Great Stuff foam. Easy low cost repair will fix those soft spots where there is no water damage. I mention not gluing the vinyl down but you will need to glue the border area down. You don't have to glue the center sections. This camper had no soft spots due to water damage so the bottom plywood was in good condition and supported the spray in foam. Over laying the original top plywood with underlayment will give you the best results. I will have a video of that at a later date. Thanks for watching!
I saw one floating down the River last week!
Helpful hint... a flat shovel or hoe will remove the overflow foam much quicker the next day. Thx for video
Just finished this on my caravan floor
Drilled my holes at 2inch spacing found 4 was too far in mine
As it was very spongy
I am going to overlay the floor with click together flooring
This made the floor firm and not squeaky
Thanks mate
Glad that my video was helpful in repairing your floor!
Pretty good idea, that’s for sharing.
You are going at fixing it from wrong direction....if you get underneath and have someone walk on it you will see where it is flexing inbetween the steel supports. You need to add cross braces of steel to reinforce the floor. I did this and my floor is solid now.
Good suggestion
Hi Charles how did it work out once you put the 1/4 inch overlay on? Also when you shot the foam in did it bow the plywood at those seams? Thanks for your help great video
The floor didn't bow out the plywood it the seams. It did expand out the holes. The 1/4" underlayment really seem to add more strength. No more soft spots 😊
I was surprised how much the foam made the floor solid again. Interesting side note. On my camper the plywood on the bottom side of the floor was thicker than the top.
Other videos they use epoxy. Is this as good?
It was much easier to use and I would say it does the same as it relies on the bottom plywood for support. The great stuff foam doesn't compress very much as I show in the video.
