In a standard alternator there is a three phase rectifier. Its build by six Diodes. Your bad signal shown by the pico-scope is caused by a bad phase of the rectifier. Back in older days we were actually able to replace them but since money is more important than anything things habe changed. A company does more likely sell a new alternator then a cheap diode set. However with some messing there is still the possibility to replace them... but whats more difficult is, to get the housing together right again. Most of the time they are glued together. Thanks for your very cool and nice content ! 💪
I also leave the mess of tools until the next day not so exhausted and gives ya a boost and a little enjoyment to clean the tools and out them away @Watch Wes Work
I have a 2006 Silverado with 171,000 and have never replaced any of those steering parts. My truck has spent its entire life in Eastern and North Iowa in the rust belt. I think I know what you are talking about regarding “doing everything”, and your statement about “focusing on what I do”.... However, i recall in your earlier videos, you talking about “work” slowly coming in, and it would take some time for the word to get out about you. Well sir it appears that “ thee word” is now out... Your are a prized commodity. You “can” do just about everything, and you do it well... However you are probably right, in that you now have to establish to the customers, the core work that you do.
Lots going on!
Yeehaw!
Congrats Mrs. Wes!
Your summer is booked!
Looking that way!
Watching wes work reminds me of why I became an hvac tech
The electronics and computers in todays cars make them convenient but a pain to diagnose. I miss the simpler times of the 70's & 80's engineering.
I also leave the mess of tools until the next day not so exhausted and gives ya a boost and a little enjoyment to clean the tools and out them away @Watch Wes Work
Interesting video 👍.
Wes do you find TH-cam brings customers to you?
I have a 2006 Silverado with 171,000 and have never replaced any of those steering parts. My truck has spent its entire life in Eastern and North Iowa in the rust belt. However, I do drive my truck daily and never sits to long. I will say I have had to put a reman motor from Jasper at 113k as I had an oil return port crack and take out cylonder 2 and 5. Truck 171k motor 58k. Great videos!!! Congrats to Mrs. Wes!!!
Congratulations to Mrs. Wes! School while work is not easy!
@13:50 - I'd rather go home and have everything put away, so coming in the next day you're ready to go and have no mess to face. Then again, that's just me.
Yep. Shops in NC expect you to have turned 5 hours by 9:0AM. Better have your bay clean and tools ready by 7AM. Trash emptied every night. Shops run from 7AM-9PM. Some overlap on shifts.
Big Congratulations from Northern Ireland on Mrs Wes getting her Masters, Well Done. 👍👏🍻
WOO HOO business is good. CHEERS!

Wish I lived closer so I could brother you too, lol .
Plenty of work! As long as machines exist, you will stay busy Wes... That is if you keep doing good work... ❤️

If you are ever in California stop by for a beer.NO! don't... Turn around and get the hell out of here as fast as you can.😳
I've been to California 4 or 5 times. Always enjoyed it. Probably wouldn't want to stay, but fun to visit.
very much fun watching u at work as u explore and troubleshoot repairs
Thanks for letting me watching you work Wes. 🛠
Appreciate the no nonsense straight forward can do it attitude. Midwestern Values.
WWW is my favourite channel on You Tube. Videos like this are part of the reason why, showing what obstacles come up in Wes's day to day worklife, great for people to see his job isn't straightforward.
Great mechanic, great guy, and of course the lovely Mrs Wes is always nice to see as well. Great channel Wes, thank you for allowing us to get a glimpse into this part of your life. Cheers from New Zealand.
I think I know what you are talking about regarding “doing everything”, and your statement about “focusing on what I do”....
However, i recall in your earlier videos, you talking about “work” slowly coming in, and it would take some time for the word to get
out about you.
Well sir it appears that “ thee word” is now out...
Your are a prized commodity. You “can” do just about everything, and you do it well...
However you are probably right, in that you now have to establish to the customers, the core work that you do.
Great video, and as always it is great to get a visit from the “lovely assistant”... I dream of a visit such as this, by her to deliver me a cold adult beverage.
Thank you sir.
congratulations to Mrs. Wes!
I really like the longer videos. This was very interesting. A day in the life....
Fantastic way to start a long weekend!!!!
Glad there were no critter issues to deal with with max on the job!!
That road is par for what we have in central Canada. 10% original road, 70% various patches, 20% pot holes....
No Lambos or Ferraris around us here out in the country....
Way to go Mrs. Wes!!! Great job navigating, teaching, a masters, and 2 children.... the little one and the big one.... sorry Wes, could not help myself😄
