YEAHHHH!!!!!!!!! Back where it belongs!! Amazing video! Really liked the effects
Thank you 🙂 , and I'm really glad you liked it. After all, it was for you.
I always thought the Singer Building was one of the most beautiful buildings of the 20th century. It’s a shame they had to demolish it
I think the same way. Although personally, out of the old buildings in NYC, the Woolworth still fascinates me, and I have to dedicate a standalone video to it. But perhaps it'll be when I tackle that topic, discussing both old and modern buildings, including some that I consider masterpieces but are little known. But all of that might be for next year.
That's the fun part, they didn't necessarily had to!
The singer building looks very lonely with only that space of land, apart from the fact that it is missing other buildings such as the city investing building and other small buildings, but otherwise a good video, if the singer building returned today, I would be happy and I would go visit him at the singer building.
Yes!! But let's add the City Investing Building to the formula as well 🤩
Great. Now lets do it for real
Too bad it was taken down in the first place 😢
SB was a slender beauty, as slender as the towers of the last 15 years. So it was 100 years ahead of his time. A turn around the artistic top of the building would have been great. Very good video anyway.
You're absolutely right, but the model I used is quite basic. If I ever have the time to create something more detailed, I'll definitely include a close orbital shot to capture all the architectural beauty it undoubtedly had.
Is the Singer Building really going to be recreated on its originsl site ? That would be a wonderful thing to for once see a past architectural masterpiece returned to the New York skyline. A former palace of the German Kaisers was recreated in Berlin so it can be done. Hopefully , its great lobby will be recreated. It was certainly one of the finest buildings designed by Architect Ernest Flagg. There was also the fine restoration of the Pennsylvania Station to the grand entry it used to be. It would be great if the trend continues and former architectural masterpieces can be resurrected instead of the usual sterile steel and glass boxes that are usually built. There are many other great buildings that should also be brought back.
Well, no, in this case it's just a digital fantasy. But yes, it would indeed be nice to be able to recover some of the magnificent architectural pieces that have been lost. However, I'm afraid we'll have to settle for CGI for the most part.
Where's the City Investing Building and those other buildings in the Singer Building's plot of land? You should've brought them back too, because the Singer Building just looks, naked, without them.
Would be cool if you swapped a skyline entirely. If you did something like Atlanta in Chicago's layout side by side you could see the drop
Thanks for the idea, I find it interesting. I might do something about it, yes.
Or sydney in los angeles keep switching
one liberty plaza is demonstrated
The Eiffel Tower in the center of Central Park would be cool.
Yes, I like it.
The Singer Building looks weird by itself, it needs the City Investing Building to go along with it
How about a version with old Penn station?
Yes, in fact, someone just requested it in another comment. So yes, we'll do it, but Midtown is going to lose a lot of office space... 🙂
If I might ask, how did you remove the model of One Liberty from the google earth map? I've never seen anyone able to remove elements from google earth's photorealistic map before!
Of course you can. Let me explain: I actually work directly with Google Earth's 3D models through Blender using a Google API. And this, although until recently it was quite cumbersome, has now been greatly simplified. So, to summarize, I modify the areas I'm going to transform in 3D and then do a montage on real video with camera tracking or with tracking points if it's on simulations.
@@Magnitudx thank you for the information!
0:28 That’s the deutsche bank building!
I think the Singer Building's almost one-of-a-kind coal-fired heating system made the building not amenable to modernization. Besides, One Liberty Plaza earned far more money in terms of rents for many years for the landowner over the Singer Building.
For some people, these things hold more sentimental value than financial worth. And while it's understandable to feel a sense of loss when something we grew up with disappears, I can also see why the owner made the decision they did.
2:15 mistake:one liberty plaza came back!
😁He's a tough nut to crack.
@@Magnitudx who
The Liberty Plaza, of course.
@@Magnitudx so one liberty plaza is a tough nut to crack
*GREAT VIDEO! You certainly are an architectural aficionado!*
Could you replace the original Penn Station? 😊
Of course, but we're going to affect a significant portion of Midtown 😁
@@Magnitudx No worries ! Much MUCH better than the stupid msg + office tower they built on top of it! 😎
PS - - are you in nyc?
No, not right now; I'm in Europe, but I'll be going soon.
@@Magnitudx you have a website?
