Thanks, great video, so helpful . I have been struggling controlling the amount of water on my brush. This explanation is so easy to understand.

Just picked up your book and am so pleased you have done this demo. Will diligently go through each exercise as instructed in the introduction. Can’t wait to get some tips under my belt. Cheers

Stephen, thank you so much for explaining your techniques so clearly. I’ve had your Enigma book for some time but have struggled to achieve decent results. I’ve just bought your Skies book which prompted me to return to Enigma. Seeing you demonstrate your techniques so clearly has helped me to see what I’m doing wrong.. I can’t wait to get started again. With much gratitude

      Hello Richard,
Many thanks for buying my latest book and I hope you will find it useful. I'm glad you found the video helpful. It is often so much better to see things in real time rather than in the pages of a book. Best wishes, Stephen

The book arrived yesterday, so I started reading the first 2 chapters and introduction of course. I must say, it grabbed me from the start, it's written with us beginners/recent arrivals/improvers in mind. This morning I got up early to start the first of the exercises. It is an absolutely great way to really begin to understand the whole pigment-water-paper-brush interaction principles and start to gain confidence in what is going to be the result. I'm having fun with it and I've set my self a challenge to be more disciplined and follow through all the exercises in this book.
The quality and presentation of the book is top class. Thank you Stephen, for this valuable contribution to the watercolour painting community. Long may you run.

Hello Gabrielle, many thanks for your kind comments. I'm delighted that you have a copy of Lakes and Rivers and I hope you continue to enjoy your hobby. Don't forget I am the author of two other books and you can get all the art materials featured in the books from my website www.coatesart.co.uk. I only ship to the UK so if you are in another part of the world you would need to send me an email so that I could advise you of alternative ways of getting the products.
      Best wishes, Steve

Hello Katharine, Many thanks for your encouraging comments. The Watercolour Enigma took two years to plan and write so it is extremely gratifying to know that it is doing the job I intended it to do. I hope your watercolour journey is a happy one! Look out for my next book published in February. It's all about painting skies!
      Best wishes, Steve

@@stephencoates8165 No one has explained this exact point, and so clearly, and how crucial it is. I’ve been using this new knowledge for a couple of days now, and it’s a game changer for sure!
