As someone who is looking at it from a consumers perspective and as someone who is most likely to purchase it i have to say that the looks of the laptop are very clean and slim. The build quality on the laptop isn’t great but it is fine and thats really all you need. Next is the performance although it is capable of running games such as Minecraft or GTA vice city it is not meant to withstand those pressures because the laptop will over heat and due to the ultra thin design it does not have a cooling fan which will then ruin your computers battery life but it will handle lower end softwares and games. I also like to have a seperate laptop for travel. At first I was a bit turned down by the washed out display. However it was pretty cheap and that’s why I got it. It is suitable for light tasks but if you are into gaming, there are better options.
I need a travel laptop for work as well. I usually use my PC to work. I also have a MacBook air that I use for my college classes.. I'm looking into getting this, hopefully, it's smoothable for me to run Citrix Workspace. Because that is the software I use to work. For $100 bucks you really can't beat the price.
It will definitely open ps and do basic editing. But if you're the person who does heavy editing with tons of layers, then it definitely won't be able to handle it. My laptop with i3 11gen and 8bg of ram once shut down from the load lol so i had to change the setting to never shutdown. But I guess it will do day to day tasks and even some light editings. Just don't get it for the sole purpose of editing, if you have to work in a lot of layers.
Gateway's N4020 ( 2 core ) is $89 on clearence from Walmart. They also have a Lenovo Ideapad 14.0" for $129 running a Pentium N5030 4 core, so nearly twice as fast as the Celeron N4020,. and a Core i3-1115G4 with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage and 15.6" screen for $239. All of them can do the basics of Web Browsing, email, video, documents, and light gaming.
I have this laptop and I received it for my birthday recently. Although it is not good, I manage to play more games than my white Chromebook can. I abandoned full screen in favor of low resolution games which i had been using this practice on my now broken pc and my brother's 2 gb ram tablet laptop.
Sadly my aunt bought a similar spec lenovo laptop from Walmart for like 200+ something dollars 💀 celeron n4020 4gb ram. so at $99 this laptop is a steal from best buy. Currently they have that same lenovo still at $99 unfortunately THIS asus SOLD yesterday in my area. Im noticing this combo is popular everywhere celeron n4020 4gb ram with emmc storage. I played around with it & was like see this is why I trust nobodythis laptop is 100% useable for basic usage just no intensive programs. People’s problem is they want everything to run games but don’t want to pay the cost 😂.

I think After Effects you may be pushing it. I think for Minecraft and Spotify, you will be fine but I would run multiple apps at the same time. For me, it's my travel laptop, if it gets stolen, it's only $99, also I really need Photoshop to do my photo editing, which it runs as you can see from the video. I also need it for my basic video editing, so I will install Powerdirector or Movavi on it, and do a test run. I doubt it will do any 4k editing, but as long as it can pull off 1080p, I am ok with it.

It's not glossy, it's a kind of matte finish, so not a lot of reflections from the surroundings. The contrast is really good, also the brightness is really good too. I was using it in a coffee shop sitting next to a window during the day, my brightness is set at 50%, and I see everything perfectly fine.

It cannot handle minecraft with the 4gb ram, the slow memory and under clocked processor.

Of course not. It only has 4GB RAM & Celeron. But it's fine for travelling, the battery life is great, and can play The Sims 1 when you are bored.
