I feel for smb1 and smb3 they could just show mario's left/right standing pose alternating as the spin animation instead of just static standing. I can't imagine it'd be that hard considering what other incredible things they've added
Super Mario Maker 2 looks really cool (as does this mod), but it's Mario Multiverse I'm most excited for. Partly because I don't have the money to buy a Switch right now 😢 It's nice to come to one of your videos after apparently weirding out another TH-cam creator (of Star Trek) videos with my rambly weirdness... Whereas you're always so _polite_ and _friendly_ about my rambly weirdness! 😄

I mean, I wanted to be a video game designer/developer as a little girl, still would want to be if my disabilities allowed me to work. I mean, I know there's more indepth and flexible engines I can learn later, but a game/maker like this feels like a fantastic way to dip my toes in, even if my mental health issues are making me feel like I can't handle doing much. It's less daunting than coding, even though I know the basics of that, not enough _modern_ coding to accomplish much useful, but if you want a crappy game knocked out in an afternoon or two of coding on a BBC Micro, I'm your gal! I mean, assuming said afternoons fall on mental health good days 😅

I even bought a second copy, second hand, but it had a disc read error on both my main and backup Wiis (I thought my original Wii was broken, turned out to just be the video cables). At that point... I owned two physical copies of the game, even if I couldn't begin to tell you where my old copy is, so my thought process went something like "truck it, schmiracy to the rescue" 😄 But then Nintendo apparently announce Sunshine HD for the Switch? Damn you Nintendo, you're always three steps ahead! Now that I've got professionals doing my accounting (it's a service for people with mental health issues), I'm trying to decide if I should ask them to save me money for a Switch, or a PSVR.

People are still making Mario Maker mods in 2019. Even after the Wii U is dead, and Mario Maker 2 is coming to Switch. Also. R.I.P Old Blue Television Games Logo. We will miss this.
Yoshi eating Bowser is amusing for sure. That said, I think the whole idea of trying to make features "universal" isn't that appealing. I say this because when I worked on levels part of the fun of choosing the styles was difference in limitations and features. If you take away those limitations by say making spin jump in every style, something is lost. That said, I will admit part of me did want a flying power up of some sort added to SMB1 and I think the Shoe being part of Mario 1 is fine. Same for the airship theme. So I'm not 100% against the idea of adding things from later games to earlier ones. I guess it depends on what you're adding.
I wouldn't want it to be standard, but having the option to add abilities to your level would be sweet. I do agree with you though. also, good to see you! :D

I hope they add New Super Mario Bros so you can make levels where you have the ground pound and the wall jump, but not the twirl.
