It works on my Brother MFC 2700DW. I have already bought a new toner but It will arrived next week. You make me print documents this week. Thank you so much!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH for taking the time to make a simple and clear video for something that has been bugging me for days and now I can print out a bunch of stuff without taking the toner cartridge out and putting it back in which is how I was managing this-always GREAT to outthink the machines:)
Thank you! I tried all other options to no avail...and almost ordered a new drum kit. Thank the Gods and the Force for the internet:-). You, Sir or Madam, are a true Jedi Master!
that is pure magic! It worked! Many thanks! My boss is a little worried because her tech guy told her that message will never disappear and she should just live with it. I couldn't stand that message and wanted it gone.
It's not sad Brother doesn't tell you. Brother does this premature low toner message so you think you have to buy new toner when your cartridge is still about half full! On my old brother I had to use electrical tape over the sensors on the toner cartridge to extend the toner cartridge life. Thanks for the video to the original poster and good to know on my new brother that it should be as easy as open door, do a few key presses, and I'm off and running again until it's truly time to replace the toner cartridge.
This will not work on the DCP-L2540DW printer since there is no numeric keypad for the *00 entry etc. I found the solution which worked perfectly for me: Printer Model: DCP-L2540DW. Toner Model: TN-660 / TN-630 Question: After changing the new toner, it still shows "Replace Toner", "Toner Low" or "Toner Ended". Answer: Please try the following steps: a. Make sure the printer is turned on. b. Open the front cover. c. Perform the following steps to reset the rotation count for the TN660: i. With the front cover open, the LCD should display "Cover is Open". ii. Hold the MENU button down for 5 seconds until Reset Menu is displayed. iii. Press the UP ARROW until TNR-HC is displayed. iv. Press the OK button. v. Press the UP ARROW to reset. The LCD will briefly display "Accepted" close the cover and press the clear button to get back to the regular copy menu, voila no more "replace toner" message. Took me over an hour to find this, it was a pdf on 123InkCartridges Canadian web site. I will be ordering from them next time! Very helpful web site!
+Terry Proveau Thank you!! Worked on my MFC L2700DW. I was so frustrated, my last brother was the *00 reset and you just solved my problem! Much obliged! Thank you!
Yep totally worked!! Also doubling up with my electrical tape hack to cover the sensing port on the toner!!! My toner and drum have lasted me like over a decade.
thanks for this video. I was in the MIDDLE of a printing project on starter cartridge when the black toner gave me this message. I was so upset that I did not look for an answer.. I should have known lol...everything is on TH-cam. Oh well, now I know and will save money have to make copies lol
Thank you for your video, he answered my question and it works for MFC-7460DN model. Merci pour ton video, il a répondu à ma question et ça fonctionne pour le modèle MFC-7460DN.
still works in 2017 for my mfc 7860dw .. Installed brand new Brother brand toner and still says replace toner . What a scam these printer companies have going . Thanks for the fix
Did not work on MFC-DL2540DW when I replaced the toner cartridge from the second, brand new printer with new starter cartridge. There should be a work around I hope. If we can't use a new starter cartridge, it's not a good sign for customers.
Didn't work . Had a relatively new remanufactured cartridge. tried resetting the gear on the side and trying this method. No joy on a DCP 8060 (less than 7500 total prints so the machine doesn't seem to be faulty). Ended up replacing with a non-Brother refill cart and it works (for now). Suggestions?
+wilshiresun You may have already found for MFC-L2700DW drum reset. I just found it tonight. The OK button needs to be held down for a couple seconds for our printer(got this from the Drum Unit Replacement Guide download from Brother)p 3
Wow thanks. Guess who just looked like a rock star to that pretty girl at the office. She was all flustered and i walked by and quickly TH-camd this video and went back casually and said " Is everything alright'? then i say " is that all, let me take care of that". lol While i was doing it i was thinking "please work *00 or i will look pretty stupid". BINGO a smile and no longer invisible. I owe you one. Cheers

+Terry Prove The original solution did not work for my MFC-L2700DW but this one did. Very simple. Did away with the "replace toner" message and allows printing again with same toner cartridge. And the quality is the same as it has been all along with this toner cartridge. Watch it last another few months! I will use it until print quality is unreadable. Thanks very much.
