शारदा जैसी मधुर आवाज़ हिंदी सिनेमा की अमर आवाज है जिसे बहुत से षड्यंत्रों ने उठने से पहले दबा दिया और हम इसके जादू से वंचित हो गए।
शारदा जी को स्टेज पर गाते देखकर अच्छा लगा. उन्होंने करीब 58 साल पहले अपना करियर शुरू किया था और हिंदी सिनेमा में ज्यादा नहीं टिक पाई. जयकिशनजी (शकर- जयकिशन) उनके godfather जैसे थे. उनके निधन के बाद शारदा जी का हिंदी सिनेमा से नाम ख़त्म हो गया. आज वो ७५ वर्ष के आसपास होंगी पर इस उम्र में भी कितनी सुन्दर आवाज हैं.
Sharda Rajan Iyengar (25 October 1933 - 14 June 2023) the first Indian female playback singer to be awarded in Bollywood Filmfare Awards. Truly iconic, legendary singer! I'm very shocked and very sad to know she's no more in this world but I believe her irreplaceable voice, her contribution to the music industry will last throughout eternity, it is sad she did not get the right recognition and due respect she deserves due to dirty politics in Bollywood Music Industry. It is more sad to know legendary singer like Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle etc have been the reason behind the dirty politics played with extremely talented and great singer's of their time like Sharda ji, and Suman Kalyanpur.

That is happening Everywhere. In malayalam, around five female singers, Minmini, arundhathi, jency, ganga, sujatha and even jayachandran, qere sidelined.

Where as Sharda sang only 10 to 15 songs and that too only under Shanker ( not also under his partner Shanker Jaikishen). She was only one song magic and that too for a very good composition. I remember while going to school I use to listen to shardha ji songs in 70s on radio v frequently. In early 60s shardha came in with v different unique voice. Shardha ji n Suman ji gave tough to Lata ji n asha ji in those. S j use shardha ji voice v nicely. Great shardha ji. N Suman ji.
