Thanks so much for the tips Eric! I’m an older guy (60), but in good shape, not looking to start fights just playing defense at this point. Spot on advice!
Very good stuff! My personal preference is to rely more on open hand strikes, like heel of hand and knife hand, but do include fist hammers, which are all generally less prone to break bones. Mike Tyson, had superhuman punching power, incredibly strong wrists and forearms, was an extremely well conditioned, schooled and trained fighter, yet still broke his hand or wrist in a street fight with Mitch Green. Once the hand or wrist is injured in that manner, your defensive capabilities are immediately compromised. Not at all desirable, if you're contending with a formidable and determined aggressor.
We have 4 limbs. If it manages to reach the point where someone grabs both your arms/hands, they can’t protect the groin/knees etc…… just saying. Need to think in totality.
Yes, lots of ways to do it. Including the head butt. A lot depends on range. This video is by no means an exhaustive list. It was intended to get people to think.
Situational. You've got to fit into the circumstances. You can be defensive, or you can be offensive. But if you try to do both, you're gonna give something up. You can hold your hands up just for posture. You can show that you're not offensive but still be subtly ready. Surprise could be your secret weapon here. For me, if I had my arms fully extended, I would draw them back as or if the opposition came closer. You leave yourself pretty vulnerable with your arms locked straight out.
@Knucky_Sammich 1. How would someone steal your car if they are laid out on their back? 2. If an attacker wanted to steal your car, they would knock you out and take it anyway Do whatever you gotta do to end the fight and get out safely.
@@EricCarrJeetKunedo If the keys don't work, you can throw your wallet and phone too. And shoes! Don't forget to throw your shoes. 🤣 I'll stick with pocket sand. Shi shaw!
Anyone with any sense who trained in any real combat art can say the same thing. This is from my experience being in street fights and observing street fights and logic. But are you saying, because you believe it's one thing that it can't also be another? Or don't use it because you believe it belongs to X?
@EricCarrJeetKunedo you mentioned about it being bruce Lee's philosophies. In reality, it's actually just wing chun but not as sophisticated as wing chun
@S.N.T.247 Why aren't there any champions winning fights with wing chun? There aren't. It actually came more from boxing and kickboxing. Methods that actually make contact with each other. I learned all three forms. I studied with hong kong hall of famers. I'm not ignorant. Show us some video of you sparring? Not choreography. Put some gloves on with the boxer and see how it goes.
@EricCarrJeetKunedo I'm not a boxer. I'm a wing chun man. That's like asking someone that practices bjj to box a boxer, ain't doing that. As far as fighters that's do wing Chub is an oxymoron. People who train wing chun in a high level are more of intellectuals than fighters. So the wing xhun fighters you see are just beginners trying to prove themselves. And only if you knew f Wing Chun lol. Just becasue you know the 3 forms doesn't mean you've internalize the system, and that shows from your videos. Understand, bruce lee never completed the wing chun system. And because he didn't complete it, he can't represent himself as a true wing chun practioner. So he created jkd to bridge the gap because he was missing the whole system. I respect that, imagine how many wing chun practioners also didn't complete the system and they actually call it wing chun. Even those so called hall of farmers you speak of lol
@mortgagefinancing5558 It sounds like your solution is: 1. Complain. 2. Stand there and get beat up. I recommend taking a grammar class before you come to someone else's page to vent your emotions. That way, you only look like a fool, once.

I agree with everything you said, Eric. Great advice.

Great stuff! Simplicity is always the best policy.
Years worth of knowledge coming from experience explained in less than 8 minutes. 🙏
love the level of detail, not a wasted moment, great vid!
As a Kung Fu master myself, I realize that the simplest techniques are the best techniques in a " real" world confrontation!!!
@cjsansoo7 And every fighter i've studied going back to the seventies, has said the same thing. Keep up the good work

nothing fancy, 360 awareness at all times, surprise them, go all out then get the fck out, thats what i taught my sons.
It doesn't get more simple than that

Everybody is useing the fence now a days.
That's brilliant. The proverbial "hold me back, bro!"
Please don't throw your keys at an attacker. They'll steal your car and be waiting for you after your long walk home.
