You can't put your hands on someone for no good reason, especially when they are upset and you just trapped them in a corner. Where I am from if you touch someone without their consent that is battery. You go to jail for that, same as if you punch them. I think both of them ought to face some consequences.

What is your alternative solution? It is very easy to point out an anomaly, but there are some situations where there is no perfectly "fair" solution. I am all ears of you have a solution that doesn't just move the anomaly somewhere else.
