Your BG3 builds are my favorite on TH-cam!! After watching so many builds, yours are honestly the most fresh, creative, and well-designed ones I've seen so far. Also I love your editing style 😂😂 I think this build would be really fun for Dark Urge! Using it on my next playthrough for sure.
I did try to make a build actually using the arcane trickster subclass, but like man does it just provide so little incentive over just taking the extra bonus action from thief. I've been trying something similar with eldritch knight, but these 1/3 caster classes are just so bad.
@@Stealth_07 ikr? Arcane trickster is one of my personal favorites flavor-wise, but boy is it useless mechanically. In 5e you can at least get value of summoning a familiar, but in bg… yeah, who needs a familiar when you have a whole ass party and veeery loose rules compared to 5e, especially when it comes to bonus action
@@nin0fif the invisible mage hand had more uses in bg3 (and had a way to refresh its own invis) Then maybe I could make an argument to go the subclass over thief. (Although Id probably still go at least 7 caster levels, greater invis is just too good)
@@Stealth_07 yeah, very true. I actually started my beta run as an arcane trickster and dropped it after I found out how they nerfed my boy. Such a shame really, he didn't deserve it. Especially in comparison to the thieves buff
@@Stealth_07oo I have been thinking about how trash eldrich knight is and how I wanted baezel to be a gish in my gith only playthrough but couldn't really think of any
Okay after running this build and completing the game with it, I can only say: This was maybe the most fun I've ever had in the game. The only sad part is that it mostly comes online in Act 3, but still super strong even on Tactician. Thank you so much for this build!
Another way to make your scrolls work with CHA instead of INT, which could work pretty well for this build, is to take the final level as a Storm Sorceror, giving you the ability to fly without attacks of opportunity after casting any levelled spell, once per turn. Only thing you'll really lose is 1 arcane recovery charge, which at level 12, due to the items available, is not really an issue. Still a great build though.
Oh shit yeah, that's a good call, I always forget to think about sorcerer multiclassing because lorewise it doesnt make much sense to be able to multiclass into sorcerer, so I just like implicitly ignore it sometimes when I really shouldn't.
@@Stealth_07 yeah, I also try to make my builds make sense lorewise but ig you can make a sorcerer multiclass make sense by saying the power was there the whole time but has only "awaken" when you multiclass into sorcerer
i'm new so what does "Another way to make your scrolls work with CHA instead of INT, which could work pretty well for this build,..." means? is it that i can put all my skill points that would go to intelligence towards charisma? what about the spellcasting with the sorcerer class
Rogue Thief, Duelist legendary, and band of mystic scoundrel is so good. Having two bonus actions mean you get to attack again and cast an illusion/enchantment spell after.
Yeah, part of my favorite thing about this build late game is just how much versatility you have in terms of options each round of combat (Just wish the late game encounters were a little harder to force me to actually make use of all those options though).
Late to comment, so you may already know this. You don't need to kill Minthara to get Spidersilk Armour. Just knock her out with a non-lethal attack, be it from the passive toggle or weapon skills like Pommel Strike.
Glad you like them! Theyre easily my favorite part of the video to write and edit. (even if they are usually are a pain in the ass to record, these mfing npcs dont like cooperating with my cinematic vision)
Of course! I always hated it when build videos are like "here are the items you want" and its just entirely items you get in act 3, like bro that is only at most 1/3 of the game what about the other 2/3rds.
@@Stealth_07 litteraly man and you’ve perfected it these builds are fun and easy to follow, I’m nearing the end of my first play through as a paladin and although i didn’t multiclass like yours just solely paladin the weapons and armour you suggested are great thanks man :)
I like the progression on this build! I'm going to use it into Act 3 and then respec into Enchanter Wizard 10, Bard 1, Rogue 1 (or Old One 'Lock 1) for greater invis scoundreling. Poking people and casting whispers or mockery from outside of turn-based mode is funny enough that it justifies doubling the fun with "split enchantment"
I dont think rogue 1 is that useful in your projected level split, old one warlock or storm sorcerer would be better suited as a single point level in that split. (or you could go some martial class for the proficiencies)
@@Stealth_07 That's fair and good advice. Stealth expertise I just like for staying out of turn based mode longer, and tagging on Persuasion expertise to occasionally knock it out of the park with a party face who can don the Pointy Hat. Old One 'Lock would just give more casts of those twinned spells and benefit from the Duelist's Prerogative crit chance buff. That and scoundrel ring offer enough uses for my bonus action, but storm sorc is tempting for the constitution proficiency!
This looks insanely fun to play. I have a suggestion though. Wouldn't it be benefitial to drop 1 wizard level for 1 draconic or storm sorcerer? Draconic grants free permanent mage armor, storm sorcerer grants fly for bonus action after casting a leveled spell (good thief synergy) AND, you could choose to start off level 1 with sorc to get con saving proficiency for concentration, if you don't mind playing Drow to compensate for lack of weapon proficiencies. Thoughts, fellow gamers?

@@Stealth_07 Bro! U won't believe me I'm still in act 1 since lunch playing a lot until Lv5 or lv6 and I cannot find a way to make this work. I'm thinking now maybe a Pala 2 / tempest 10. But it's hard to make a good Gish in this game. Note: first time playing crpg like this.
I’m not sure if you’re still focusing on the comments here but like… after I hit lvl 3 I went to the undead guy to switch to bard but I lost the fast hands I got from the theif subclass and it basically made me lvl up from 1-3 Bard so I’m unsure was I to hit lvl 4 before switching to Bard to lvl up from 1-4 and I keep fast hands?!
Honestly, not really, were kind of starved for light armor options in this game, the normal Studded Leather Armour +2 you an buy from pretty much all the traders in act 2 once you hit level 9 (i think thats when it starts getting sold) is pretty alright. Alternatively you could use the Graceful cloth you can buy from Lady Esther in the mountain pass to increase your dex by 2, but thats clothing and not armor, so youll be losing some AC for that trade off. If you were willing to give up your feat to go medium armor proficiency you could also go the Dark Justiciar half plate from the gauntlet or yuanti scalemale from quartermaster talli.
I know this comment is from 2 months ago but you can get the Potent Robe as Durge with some shenanigans. If you turn on non-lethal attacks and knock Alfira unconscious at the Grove before taking your first full rest a different NPC bard arrives. This NPC doesn't show up later as far as I know, so there won't be a domino effect like with Alfira.
I might change this up a bit, rock club of hill giant strength and titan string bow arcane helmet and arrow of many, using arrow of many with helm is a constant 7 arcane acuity
How well does this build work early on? feel like not getting any ASI at all would make your spell saves pretty bad through the whole game until you can shore it up with the stronger later game items
Well this build did kinda get inadvertently nerfed by the patch 4 nerf to hand crossbows 😅. But it should be fine early, something to keep in mind is that cutting words lets you subtract from enemy spell saves as an interrupt so that can supplement your lower early stats, at least in act 2 until you get the helm of arcane acuity. In act 1, most enemy wisdom saves arent too good so it should function fine (it felt fine when I played through).
Would u trade the 3rd lvl of wizard for a lvl on warlock? Trade would be getting all 3 nice spells like command , hadar and counterspell , con. would be missing a lvl 5 spell slot that also if someone really dont like to start as rogue it can start with bard and end with warlock, but the expertice from rogue are nice tbh wdyt?
Great video! Very easy to watch and understand the build. I was gonna ask why you didnt go for Swords or Valor bard, as they get extra attack ( and swords gets awesome flourishes). But i see its so you can get magical secrets, which i totally understand. Do you think the build is viable ignoring the secrets though, and instead doing one of the lther bard subs?
If youre going to go a different bard subclass to be a more damage oriented build, defintely go swords (no offense valor bard but it is definitely the worst of the 3 imo). Something to keep in mind that I was playing around with lore bard is that reactions dont break invis (not even normal invis) so you can cutting words, lucky reroll, counterspell, etc, all from normal invis to support your team while free from danger.
was wondering how a sorcerer or warlock would pair with this instead of wizard? what do you suggest? Also could this be played in tactician/honor mode with a decent edge in combat ability?
Maybe I'm missing something, but I'm trying this build and it feels pretty weak, I'm near the end of act 2 (lvl 9) and hold person still has a 50% chance to hit with no Arcane Acuity and it's hard to get Arcane Acuity while fighting because I'm constantly missing shots ( 50~70% hit chance). Idk what I'm doing wrong :(
Such a great video! Running your build right now in my first co-op playthrough with my friends and I gotta say IT IS SO FUN! My question for you is in terms of weapon alternatives how do you think Rhapsody, Crimson Mischief, or Bloodthirst work? I am using the Bloodthirst/Crimson Mischief combo right now and it feels good, but I was wondering your opinions on how those weapons would work! Especially with the spell save dc buff from Rhapsody!
i feel like replacing the last level of wizard with bard would be better, you get nothing from wizard 3, and dont have to respec so that scrolls use your CHA stat
unless your really pining after those 5th level spells I'd just go Rouge 4 over Wizard 3. and if you really do want them go Bard 7 to get 4th level bard spells while losing nothing from wizard except 1 prepared spell. odd levels in wizard are really pointless if you have alternate levels in other full casters.
Unsure what rogue is giving this build - and the 3rd wizard level also - 10 lore bard / 2 Div wizard would be much better imo 4 magical secrets and 2 feats - the bonus action is only really good with duellist which is basically the end of the game anyway
The double bonus action is most useful for the Ring of Mystic Scoundrel, which can be acquired immediately upon entering Act 3, so you'll be able to use it for the entirety of that Act. Additionally prior to that, having the option to dash and disengage on a bonus action, along with having 2 offhand attacks gives us more options each round in allowing our character to safely position and deal additional damage in addition to spell casting. The 3rd wizard point is because each wizard level grants more wizard slots to put spells into, and I found the wizard slots for versatility more valuable then just going like 7 bard and getting the level 4 bard spell. In retrospect though, I think the actual play is to go a sorcerer level rather than the 3rd wizard level though.
Well when you take it in a literal sense and not RP wise lol, this is still basically an arcane trickster just improved upon because the actual subclass is lacking. Nothing clickbait about it
