Battlefield 4 is a first-person shooter video game developed by video game developer EA DICE and published by Electronic Arts. It is a sequel to 2011's Battlefield 3 and was released in October 2013 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360; then later in November for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Battlefield 4 was met with positive reception. It was praised for its multiplayer mode, gameplay and graphics, but was also criticized for its short and shallow single-player campaign mode, and for its numerous bugs and glitches in the multiplayer. It was a commercial success
Battlefield 4's multiplayer contains three playable factions-the United States, China, and Russia-fighting against each other, in up to 64-player matches on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One (24-Player on Xbox 360 and PS3). A newly reintroduced "Commander Mode", last seen in Battlefield 2142, gives one player on each team a real-time strategy-like view of the entire map and the ability to give orders to teammates. Also, the Commander can observe the battle through the eyes of the players on the battlefield, deploying vehicle and weapon drops to "keep the war machinery going", and order in missile strikes on hostile targets.[7][8] A spectator mode is included, enabling players to spectate others in first or third person, as well as use a free camera to pan around the map from any angle.
On June 10, 2013, at E3, DICE featured the map "Siege of Shanghai", pitting the People's Liberation Army against the U.S. Marine Corps. The gameplay showcased Commander Mode; new weapons and vehicles; and the "Levolution" gameplay mechanic. The video displays the last of these at various points, including: a player destroying a support pillar to trap an enemy tank above it; and a large skyscraper (with an in-game objective on the top floor) collapsing in the center of the map, kicking up a massive dust cloud throughout the map and bringing the objective closer to ground level.[9] Levolution also includes effects such as shooting a fire extinguisher to fill the room with obscuring clouds, car alarms going off when stepped on, metal detectors going off once passed through, or cutting the power in a room to reduce others' visibility.[9][10]
The maps included in the main game are "Siege of Shanghai", "Paracel Storm", "Zavod 311", "Lancang Dam", "Flood Zone", "Rogue Transmission", "Hainan Resort", "Dawnbreaker", "Operation Locker" and "Golmud Railway".[11][12] The game modes on offer include Battlefield's Conquest, Domination and Rush; while adding two new game modes called Obliteration and Defuse, along with traditional game modes such as Team Deathmatch and Squad Deathmatch.[12][13]
The four kits from Battlefield 3 are present in Battlefield 4 with minor tweaks. The Assault kit must now wait for the defibrillator to recharge after reviving teammates in quick succession. The Engineer kit uses PDWs, and carbines are available to all kits. The support kit has access to the new remote mortar and the XM25 allowing for indirect suppressive fire. The Recon kit is now more mobile and is able to equip carbines, designated marksman rifles (DMRs), and C4. Sniping mechanics also give with the ability to zero in your sights (set an aiming distance), and equip more optics and accessories than previous Battlefield games. The Recon kit is still able to utilize the MAV, T-UGS, and the Radio Beacon.[14][15][16][17]
New vehicles have also been introduced. With the addition of the Chinese faction, new vehicles include the Type 99 MBT, the ZFB-05 armored car, and the Z-10W attack helicopter. Jets have also been rebalanced and put into two classes, "attack" and "stealth". The attack jets focus is mainly air-to-ground capabilities, while stealth jets focus mainly on air-to-air combat. Another vehicle added in Battlefield 4 is the addition of the RCB and DV-15 Interceptor attack boats, which function as heavily armed aquatic assault craft.

That moment when you couldn’t carry your team by slaughtering the entire enemy team with a jet, and you had to go down there and arm the MCOM personally. I can feel that.
Yeah, I expect my teammates to have more brain instead of being a bot. Like cleaning house, I always aim to the other side of my mate is aiming to cover and not take by surprise but it turns out they're noobs so they always die leaving my back unguarded.
In bf1 on operations I got a 167 kill game with a heavy bomber and still lost 😐
Since I suck at jets, I am grateful for the times the top enemy players are at the sky while I win the game down below
In bf1, i was in the dreadnought, i got about 150+ kills, and we still lost

@@SilkOCE yea, played a shit ton of BF3 and it was like 95% Conquest lol. Rush was a fun way to switch it up occasionally but it was definitely mainly Conq for me
@@SilkOCE BF3 did them both in a great way. Depending on the map but if I think about it. Rush on Bazar, Seine Crossing, Noshar Canals, Metro or Kharg Island was glorious. But also Conquest on Caspian, Firestorm, Kharg or Gulf of Oman was great. BF3 in general was an overall GREAT game.
Literally all I did was rush. Every lobby was full.
Conquest has been the flag ship game mode since 1942
I like rush for the nostalgia of arming, and defusing the bomb but breakthrough feels like the natural way to go for battlefield 2042
for sure the best and worst things about rush is the mcom. Too much mortar spam and grenade spam. Also some mcoms are almost impossible to destroy

I'm my opinion, the lack of balance can make games more fun. I like how in rush sometimes attackers or defenders get an advantage. It ends up giving a more varied experience to the game. When everything is always completely fair, it feels sort of boring to me.

I do agree with you to some extent. It does give you that overwhelming sense of achievement when you pull off what seems to be the impossible like the Iwo Jima cave in Breakthrough or some of those uphill battles in Isla Inocentes
I agree, and it forces the team with the disadvantage to play more as a team and combo gadgets to counter the advantage.

That's actually pretty true i think, most FPS games nowadays are patched every 1 or 2 months to balance guns, maps etc. and while it does make the game more competitive, it often kills the fun. That shit happened for Rainbow Six Siege and Apex Legends recently and i hope it will not be the case for BF2042
Rush was amazing when it was implemented right, which the last time this happened was BF3. A more linear mode is nice in battlefield, allowing a frontline to form is great, however I think it’s more applicable in a smaller mode maybe 40 players max. For bigger battles I think breakthrough is becoming for many what rush used to be
Personally I think Rush was only good in BC1/2

@@connorbranscombe6819 it wasn't bad it was overall very good in BF3. It was only bad on more open maps like the one shown in this video. Silk Road is just an even worse version of Kharg, Caspian and Firestorm. Silk Road plays very well in Conquest though. And that's because the cancer gank trifecta (MAA, AH, CAS jet) aren't ruining the flow of the map for all the others. BF3 Caspian was one of the the worst due to so much less hard cover and the CAS jets instadeleting tanks. Take out the CAS jets and it's now S-tier. Armored Kill Rush maps were also very bad for the same reasons + gunship. Remove CAS jets and the gunship and the maps would've played very well.
BF3 still clearly had most of the maps with some very well thought out and exclusive rush designs.
Noshaahr Canals, Damavand, Seine, Metro, Tehran. All those maps had play areas exclusive to rush gameplay. Damavand Rush is legendary for the base jump and the upper portions of the map play much better than the Conquest area does- the Conquest area of Damavand is kinda bad without any way to bypass the hillside/tunnels without helis. In conquest they were either not accessible or just an area you spawn in. B2K Rush maps were all great a part from Wake Island, End Game rush was acceptable-Riverside was great. And Aftermath Rush maps were all exceptional and played great
B2K is the real benchmark for how much care DICE gave to Rush though because those are BF2 ports and they still made them S-tier rush maps on Sharqi, Oman and and Karkand because they're all urban focused maps with very good MCOM placements, play areas and vehicle loadouts. Wake Island is really only bad because the vehicle matchups are terrible. Cut out the MAA and AH and replace them with a transport heli and a BMP and now it's a much better playing rush map.
Then you see Oman reappear in BF4 and guess what, it's now one of the worst due to the sandstorm and the addition of a attack helicopter. Even worse than BF3 Wake Island because there's no hard counterbalance for the RU vehicle side.
All it takes is a bad vehicle loadout to . BF3 had some bad vehicle loadouts, but it still had very well designed levels. And the best balance of Conquest AND Rush. BC2 Conquest was very weak, BF4 rush was absolutely terrible. BF3 struck a great balance between both and Rush was an overall fantastic alternative game mode to Conquest.

Personally I haven’t liked Rush since Bad Company 2. It was perfect in that game.
It was great in BF3, obviously not as good as BC2 but yeah BF4 is shite for it
Unfortunately I was too young at the time to get into BC2, I thought BF3 rush was awesome though. I think breakthrough is the necessary evolution of the game mode.

The problem is one of map design. Rush is only good on maps designed explicitly for rush. Most BC2 maps were designed for Rush and worked well. Conversely conquest on BC2 maps was always pretty bad and was never very popular.

I’ve never used jets in BF4 before but the TH-cam algorithm somehow knew I got back into BF4 and you popped up. Ever since then I started trying jets and dude! It’s so much fun but in the same time I think how much of a beast you are in them jets! They’re so hard to control but I’ve learned so much just from watching you.

I think its good that silk road has attack jet vs attack jet without any aa, if enemy jet is flying slightly better, players will need to use iglas and stingers coordinated with friendly attack jet in order to win. so there is no guy with annoying aa whos just winning some time for his team, its either a real teamwork or a loss. bf4 feels so good when people work with coordination instead of shooting mindlessly
I really dont know why I like your channel so much, I am fucking horrible in vehicles. I play almost exclusively infy and kill vehicles, but its kinda cool seeing the other side point of view. Plus you explain things so well that it also helps as a engineer to know how good vehicle players are thinking. Glad I found your channel awhile back, I do enjoy watching the farming.

3:48 Rush is a game mode where everyone is playing one objective in a smaller area. It’s more concentrated and energetic, it feels more like a war battle than other modes which is why it’s popular. However as a vehicular player it might not be that way, since you will be drawn more attention or less targeted depending how the map is laid out.

Since BF3 Rush has always been my favorite. Conquest is just running for 3-5 minutes in the middle of nowhere only to be vehicle killed.
The javelin is why you use ECM. Once that one guy figured out you're using flares, he kept using the javelin. Good on ya for switching back to it from flares, can't have a point and click manpad get neuron activation.
The thing with BF3 was that the tank had a third seat for soflam and if the driver had the right load out it was pretty good at taking out air targets

Oh man are you in for a surprise.
Flares only work on heat seekers. Guided missles, like from the Jav, go right through cause they don't rely on heat source to lock and track target. More then likely a recon was laser targeting with solflam or PLD and that gives guided missles ability to lock on and track even if enemy doesn't have direct line of sight. Using stealth coat with ecm is best but you have to pop ecm before missles are fired. Keep in mind if you are being laser targeted a recon player just has to wait for your ecm to finish laser you and guided missles will re-engage even if you first dodged them. Ecm will prevent lock on you just gotta get in and out fast and fly low, which Silk does better then most.

I think Rush in this game has the most satisfying paths to play the objectives. It feels like every last stand from the defense team are always the harder objective to get like in Shangai crossing through the entire city and seeing all that cinematic stuff is pretty good tbh.
But yet I hate how the vehicles were balanced, sometimes the attack team gets a huge advantage or the defense team gets more.
Like in Locker, the most difficult objective to take is the A while the B ones are the easiest ones
People forget that rush is loved because it's fun to them. Balance is good yes, but an unbalanced mess that makes you laugh is going to keep you around. Just look at why people love borderlands.
Rush was gold in BFBC2 and 3, 4 was a let down but the hybrid from BF1 with operations was a chef kiss IMO

Javelin needs to be flared early, once it gets altitude it _will_ hit because of the way its targeting works. Keep an ear out for the missile tone and pop flares and soon as you hear it, making sure they cannot reobtain the lock. It sounds like just being a newb pilot, but it does work 100% of the time.
You have to remember that the laser lock remains for a few moments after flares, and that the missile maintains its own lock for a few moments after that. With the speed and homing of the Javelin, you cannot afford to hesitate with your countermeasures.

This game was really intense
I've had BF4 since it came out. Never messed with jets much. Hopped back on recently, since I wanted to get the UCAV and level up my attack jets, but it's a pain. I get the jet maybe 1 in every 5 rounds, only to be shot down 20 seconds later by the guy that literally hasn't left the cockpit of his plane since 2014.
The battlefield hype is through the roof.

Rush is a momentum game, the first EMCOM is usually the hardest, then the last few get easier and easier. Don't get me wrong there are some cheese tactics in for both attacker and defense.
I could totally just watch your attack jet and little bird gameplay and be happy.
This game will never get old or boring.. still till this day absolutely love it.
Bad company 2 was the best battlefield for rush because the maps were designed off that game mode.

Just started playing BF4 recently and rush is my go-to gamemode so far. On a lot of maps it’s very defended favored, but honestly that makes it more fun to me, especially on a map like locker
BF3 and BFBC2 Rush gave me the best memories

This is just like attack heli siege of shanghai where there is nothing to counter the attack heli and there is a million buildings to hide from stingers. Each game there is a sweaty level 140 and his friend farming kills on that map and seat switching to abuse counter measures.

Rush is very one sided but nothing beats sneaking around the defense team and eradicating their back line

RUSH is my favorite game mode but IMO the only BF title to pull it off right was Bad Company 2(and BF1 to some extent). can't wait to play on Arica Harbor and Valporaiso again when BF2042 is released

Rush is the best because a single good player or duo/trio can influence the outcome of the game. Unlike the other modes.
Rush is one of the best games modes. Silk you are missing the point: If teams are good enough to push and win the match as attackers on a map that favours the defenders then it was a job well done. Rush maps nearly always favour the defenders and that what we want!
The more difficult the better as it requires: TEAMWORK!!!

The P90 is a excellent weapon and this kid is correct it's overlooked a lot of times. It was a excellent weapon in BF3 also. Very good hip fire accuracy, rapid firing with lots of rounds down range, a good load of optics and stuff like that, it's a excellent weapon.

the pld guy can redirect the javelin rocket by relocking the jet after the flares run out ~ 3 sec or so

You should try do scout heli with a mate or two riding shotgun. Can never get bored watching scout heli gameplay.
As someone who started Battlefield series in BF2, I don't understand "BF veterans" refering to Rush. Conquest will always be the veteran mode for me. Saying that I think variety is good, and Rush can be fun if multi-level flanking is considered in map design. Anyway see you all in BF4 😉

Hydras are really good on maps without AA, but it can be difficult to take out solid AA players without JDAMs.

Ngl, you want me to get back in Battlefield 4. I usually mained the Jets and used the JDAM to piss a lot of people off. I haven't touched the game in maybe about a year or two.

Pld locks will always go through flares for some reason. They won't counter it but ecm will. I've got 700 plus hours in viper with flares.
