You can see KD was quicker and more athletic back then but he's improved on his fundamentals to not have to rely on that as much. Still same results 10+ years later.
Also have to factor in the injuries he’s had. The league is lucky he can’t move with this same quickness anymore. That combined with how polished he is now would be insane. Idk if you noticed, he used to lean a bit back on his jumper. He elevates straight up now. Been fun watching arguably the greatest scorer ever get better at his craft every season
@@MR.__G I'd say now KD plays kind of like 1/2 his younger self and the other 1/2 like a prime Dirk. On another note though his teammate James Harden needs to get in shape. I watched how he played when he first got to Houston and he was leaner and quicker. He's at that age where if you don't take care of your body you can fall of a cliff just like that.
@@itshiho that’s crazy because I was having that convo w my boy about harden. He’s totally out of shape right now. That is the biggest reason why he’s struggling. In hindsight okc made the wrong move not keeping harden over Russ. I really believe okc could’ve won 1 if they had a young explosive harden starting with KD. They easily could’ve avg 50 plus between the both.
@@MR.__G True, they definitely traded the wrong guy and should have kept Harden instead. I think Harden got lazy being able to just shoot 3s and draw fouls and now that he can't really depend on that anymore with the rule changes it's caught up too him. He also might be a metabolism victim where for some reason it slows down more than the average person at a certain age lol. Either way though he's got to get it together but coaches are afraid to call out their stars nowadays, afraid they'll leave or demand a trade.
@@itshiho agreed ! He got so used to manipulating game. Now that they’re not calling the calls he was used to getting. If he was to cut down weight & train his body by playoff time, it’s going to be hell for any team trying to guard those 2.
