      It has nothing to do with pro players. They don't play premier. Real issue is premier above 18-20k is absolutely hack fest unplayable and forces people to go to faceit with it's extremely invasive anticheat. I don't want to play on Saudi owned faceit and Premier is unplayable unless i tank my rank intentionally and play against noobs. And the only person i respect in esport journalism thinks its all made up. Lose lose situation really

      I was semi pro before quitting competitive esports and i know that cheaters literally run high elo above 20k in NA. Does that help? You straight up can't play a premier match in high elo without it being HvH or 5 queue into cheater duo queue on the other team (I WAS 28K ELO). It's not fun. I used to go on 45 game (literally) win streaks in Global MM with a 5 queue and almost never faced a cheater--it was rare. It seemed like trust factor was working. The system that they had in place in CS:GO is clearly just not enabled or is so strangely tweaked that it's bugged in CS2. You can call me "bad" or whatever you want but if you doubt me you are probably not in high elo yourself.

    I've played maybe 100 games of premier ranging from 10k-18k on the Australian servers so far on CS2, 1 definite cheater spinbotting and vac banned, and in my estimate maybe 3 more but no proof. I've interacted with probably over 700 unique players, and less than a handful of cheaters is very good in my opinion, id be happy with that level of cheating in a game of any kind let alone a competitive fps.
    The way CS players cant handle when someone actually counter strafes them or has non silver game sense is insane, even the braindead player base of League doesn't think everyone who dodges an ability is scripting.

      @@ernstjakob4394 it’s not about skill, people in high ranks falsely call out cheating all the time too.
      Even in CS GO in GE MM there were always people accusing each other of cheating, even though right now everyone says there were no cheaters in CSGO.
      Every single 3k+ Faceit player in MM was called cheater by multiple regular globals.
      I am 21k right now, yes, there are cheaters, but it’s not every game like people keep saying, it’s 1 in 3 games with multiple cheaters and 2 in 3 games with no cheaters. So even 20k+ discussions are vastly exaggerated.

    • @lambskidneys

      Also OCE in the 17-18k elo range, I’ve had a lot more than a handful of cheaters, even two random people in the same game talking about the cheats they are using and what is being detected and what isn’t. Out of say 15 obvious cheaters I have only seen two be banned. The clear spin bot aim hack doesn’t bother me nearly as much as the ones trying to hide their use of walls though.

    Not sure why the focus is solely on premiere mode and at a certain ELO. There are countless cheaters in Competitive ie Unranked mode. I absolutely agree there are too many terrible players who cry cheater at the first outplay. At the same time, most cheaters are terrible players and therefore it’s pretty easy to sus out at any level. It’s definitely not beneficial to discussion to say everyone is cheating, but it’s equally not beneficial to say there are only cheaters at higher MMR in premiere.

Yet CS fans act like this game is the worst among everything in history.

    I came back to CS with the subtick update a few months ago, but at 17-18k elo/mmr the cheating issue was genuinely noticeable... compared to GO. I'm sure they did it because of queue times and being a new game but I don't know why they didn't transport the old Trusted Factor system over with oldhead higher level accounts. And maybe they did but it wasn't noticeable or as restrictive? In my games towards the last few years of CSGO I rarely ran into blatant cheating. Whatever they did with the trusted+prime combo really worked and I hope they bring that back. I think it's just that a lot of the 30 year old talent oldheads (in other words all the vocal TH-camrs/washed pros) had become accustomed to nearly zero cheating in matchmaking (at least in NA).

    I agree Rich. People from other games won't understand the depth of game knowledge that I think you need to accurately call cheats in CS. I think it's somewhere around 1500+ hours if not 2k hours before you really get a grasp on high level decision making, timings, and late round rotations on most maps
    Even then, you don't always make the best decisions but you can at least understand why other players made the smart plays without calling it wall hacks immediately

I remember back in 1.6 days I falsely banned player in some public server because his plays didn't make sense, but later found out that he simply plays without headphones and thus have no directional sound.

  • @jazz2
    @jazz2 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

    My personal experience (around 300 premier games) from playing premier in NA is that north of 18k MMR is virtually unplayable, your getting a 50/50 chance of getting cheaters and even higher if playing in the morning before noon. Somedays are better then others but if I'm playing 5 games a day I'm at least getting one cheater. Richard is 100% correct when he says the average player is not running into that many cheaters. 15k MMR is the sweet spot and have seldom gotten cheaters in that range. The system is even set up right not so that cheaters always rise to the top so logically it even makes sense too. Most of this community doesn't know what they're talking about.

    • @_pj7346
      @_pj7346 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Relatable. I really like the changes Valve has made to Premier, and aside from the cheating situation I currently prefer it to Faceit. But my usual playgroup is all between 18k-21k elo (we were SMFC/Global at the end of GO) and while I don't feel like we're 50% to have a cheater in our games, it is something like 1 in 4 (since the VAC wave). Doing the rough math, that means that you need to be good enough to win 2/3 of your cheater-free games just to tread water rating-wise. So when we bump up against opponents who aren't cheating, they only win about 1/3 of the time. We constantly get accused of cheating, and I wonder how much of the perception of smurfs/cheaters is caused by players like us.

    • @_pj7346
      @_pj7346 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Also, and this is something I haven't heard anyone else even talk about, they for some reason disabled the ability to kick your random fifth if you are in a 4-stack. We had a game with an extremely blatant hacker, the kind where they shoot 10 scout shots in half a second after bhopping up mid on Mirage. And it wouldn't let us votekick him. The match didn't get cancelled (I haven't actually seen that happen yet) so we just basically sat AFK until it ended. It's frustrating to feel like Valve is taking away one of the only forms of control we had previously against cheaters in-match. I hope Overwatch comes out soon and cleans up at least some of the cheating.

    • @caged3249
      @caged3249 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @_pj7346 they took that away because if you queued into playing with a 4-stack, you could get kicked at any time for any reason. Lots of bullshit would happen like winning a game but getting kicked right when the last round is unloseable so you actually lose elo or take a cooldown.
      I suppose that's a product of the system they've created, so there could possibly be better solutions. I don't think there's any automatic system that could fairly compensate/punish solos who get kicked based on game state, so disabling it is understandable imo

    • @phwn
      @phwn 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@_pj7346 im at 21,000 and its about 50/50 too. I agree with RL with anything below 15k is really 1/10 games with a cheater at the worst. If i queue with my friends with older, higher trust steam accounts at 17-20k elo there really arent that many cheaters, but solo queueing into 20-27k is not great. Id give it 6 months max and we will see some improvements.

    • @_pj7346
      @_pj7346 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@caged3249 It seems like a clear solution would be to not change the elo outcome after being kicked. If the game was practically over, like in the situation you laid out earlier, then it wouldn't even matter at all. And in other cases of being kicked earlier, you would just almost always take a loss. Maybe there's some niche way that could be exploited still, but again, it should be weighed against the benefits of having that ability. Why do they allow votekicks at all if they're so concerned with this type of behavior?

    Mostly it's just that lots of people in prem only play it with friends of varying levels. I do that and I'm effectively smurfing against 10-11k players, and get accused of cheating pretty often. Same happens to me sometimes as well vs faceit-mains

    People stating how it is "worse than it has ever been in CSGO" either suffer from goldfish brain or are just too young to have been there in 2014-2016 CSGO. This is EXACTLY what global matchmaking looked like in CSGO before they made the trust factor work and hit with multiple massive VAC waves.
    My personal hypothesis is that not having trust functioning off the bat in CS2, combined with fucky subtick shenanigans that make fast happening situations look wildly different for the parties involved, is what helped this community derangement form in the first place.
    We had the same thing in CSGO, where a shot that looked completely legit on your end might look like you're teleporting for the enemy being peeked, that is just how the netcode worked and there are technical limitations to how accurately you can portray a situation if one or both of the players involved run on fucking dial-up internet in the russian backcountry or are three timezones away from each other in america. Subtick just makes it look worse because it is a technology still in development, which leads to morons thinking they are being cheated against.

    the worst part about the way people view cheating is that its so inherently harmful to a growth mentality. I want to grow and improve at CS, I know ill never be pro but I think I can reasonably make it into the 20k range with enough practice. (for reference I started CS2 at launch in 5k, climbed my highest to 19k and havent been able to get over that hump yet) During that short time I had to stop toxically thinking i was getting roasted by cheaters and focus on the mistake I was making. That refocus changed so much about my game that I feel like since CS2 came out im not even the same player. The Vaccells will never realize they are their own worst enemy and thats kinda sad.

    I played faceit for a while, and when I started up premier, I was 13k. I had few cheaters. Every now and then there'd be one, but when cheaters can't climb higher than 13-14-15k with wallhacks, they suck really really bad, so usually it's still possible to beat them. Then as I climbed to a higher rank, the cheaters gradually started getting more prominent. At 16-17-18k they went from maybe every five games to every 3 games. At 19k+ i started playing with and against a lot of 20k+, probably due to the fact I was gaining a lot of rank quite quickly so a good win rate was matching me with slightly higher ranks. At that point, it was maybe in average every other game. I'd be able to know for absolute certainty I had a cheater in my own team when spectating them, and whenever enemies were suspicious, I got less hope of them just being good, knowing how often I had cheaters in my own team. However, this is not something I found in lower ranks, like 17k and below. Cheaters were there, but they couldn't climb higher and so they sucked. Rarely there'd be an aimbotter or spinbotter, but most of the time the cheaters were beatable if they were even there in the first place. I'm with you rich, people be malding

    Richard Lewis, I am saying this as a fan, please look back at your choice of aggressive and vitriolic language and think about how you are seeming to casual CS viewers who think there is no cheating problem and does not agree with the Redditors and HLTVers. You are spreading hate in the community as well, just of a different kind. Repeatedly calling people insufferably stupid, incels, vaccels, morons, idiots, etc is not a helpful way to view this situation. I still remember the positivity you were bringing in the Copenhagen major and think you can bring that respectfulness to the community, including the small sect of angry teenagers that have nothing better to do than complain no matter what.

    The funny thing is about 5-6 years ago a few people in the cs community were talking about if valve added a rank after global that was harder to achieve would the main people that achieved the new rank mainly be cheating and valve could just ban them. It seems premier has done this I don't know if this is intended by Valve but its interesting. At the end of the day cheaters have way more time to create cheats then valve has to invest in developing software that detects these cheats. Good video love you're insight Lewis. It's always been an issue, even on the last days of GO when there was alot of hype for cs2, the place was riddled with suspects. Only way I can see a way to kinda fix it is make Prime $100 while still working on anticheat and community bans/overwatch. Buying accounts would be uneconomical only just to be banned next wave. Anyone with prime gets a free pass but if you cheat you are out... and maybe even hardware ID ban.

    I only watched the first 6 minutes and i disagree with some of your takes. Valve is incompetent and does not care. You can clearly see it by reading the forums, how the game looks like and what the players want and what changes(or no changes) are implemented. Deathmatch could be easily fixed, public servers have the configs for years - valve doesnt care, Overwatch 2, why is it still not implemented even in the same way that OW1 was implemented(at least in the same way if they cant figure out implementing the new stuff required for cs2)? Content literally cut from the base game, nothing added on the "full release". Shit premier system that nobody cares about and if not for faceit(imagine if league had such bad ranking system and no 3rd party company could host its own servers for it and have its own ladder, total shit show and dead game instantly) high elo players would literally just quit the game because of cheaters, no esports scene would exist and everybody would go to valorant. Obviously i went ahead and talked about things you didnt include in the first 6 minutes but youre basically saying that valve isnt as bad as the community says. Yes they are, CS has one of the biggest potentials out there out of any esport title, it could literally BE the FPS title and esport title to watch for years and years, maybe even the same way as league was for the last 10 years and yet valve just cant get their shit together, cant expand the map pool, cant fix DM, cant properly implement a seasonal ladder system that not only the casuals care about(if they do even, im really curious what the statistics would be if there was a questionnaire sent to every single player that participates in premier) but also high elo players and pros just like in league/valorant(and probably other games like dota2/cod etc etc but cant really say for sure coz i havent played them, but at this point any system is better and people care aobut it more than premier in cs2). Then theres the whole problem of literal silvers playing at 10-15k elo because valve cant implement a proper ranking system that actually tracks people stats and gives them to the proper elo, for example the HLTV 2.0 rating would be a good one, honestly any system that is similar would be better thna just RANDOMLY giving silvers who play like shit every game and need to get carried to fucking 12k when they should be at 3-5k(or higher elo players who are clearly better getting 3-5k). I could go on and on about how they dont give a fuck about even making new operations(and making money thanks that too, its not like theres no money in that, valve wants money right?), changing ct economy, canceling the game because one player didnt connect or connected but left. There are so many things that are complete fucking basic things for a title of the popularity of cs2(and the history/reputation too) and yet there are people who still cant understand that valve is treating cs2 like an unwanted kid that sometimes gets some shit presents that arent even necessarily the things he wanted just because his dad feels bad for being a multimilioner cruising the world without him but only couple days in the whole year, if its a good year. You compared the cs2 community to dota community that says they want shit but then they change their mind etc. Why are you doing that? Dota 2 is the favorite child of valve and has been for years, even the god gaben himself attended TI once or twice. At least the game had regular content updates and the players got things for years. CSGO and CS2 had content droughts for years. CS2 got released with like 20-40% of the content cut, maps, game modes, even the fucking public servers browser is so dogshit i have to use an external website to find any servers and its like kinda hidden and then you tab out of the game like what???
    I doubt ull read this, and even if you do ull probably just say oh another stupid fuctard incel. Go ahead i dont mind, i like you and your content, ure definitely enjoyable to watch. Here i disagree with this "valve isnt so bad" mindset tremendously but for example when you talked about bethesda and fallout 4 and fallout show i was agreeing constantly so dont think im just another vaccel or whatever(i never mentioned cheating here except the ladder because i agree with you about the average player wont meet a cheater every second game but more like once every tens of games).
    Anyway, have a nice day.
