1976年にデビューしたメルセデスベンツのエントリーモデルでボディバリエーションはセダンの他にクーペ、リムジン、ステーションワゴンがあった。
1980年に登場した電子制御燃料噴射の新エンジンは、最高出力136PSを発揮し1985年まで販売されたが後継のW124にバトンタッチして生産終了となった。

An entry model of Mercedes-Benz that debuted in 1976, with body variations including coupe, limousine and station wagon in addition to sedan.
The new electronically controlled fuel injection engine that appeared in 1980 exhibited a maximum output of 136PS and was sold until 1985, but was discontinued when the successor W124 was touched.

Das ist der erste W123 230E, wo der Motor genauso leise und neuwertig schnurrt, wie er es 1981 getan hat..... Er hat bestimmt auch als einziger auf youtube noch seine vollen 136 PS.

nice..im in Australia...ive got a ratty white 77-230 / 350000kms...one German engineer owner [not me]..had sat in the desert for two years..new battery..fuel line...made legal..then loaded with a tonne of gear and driven 3000kms...best car in the world..

I have the same model with manual gear, power window and fuel injection engine. No modification to the engine at all. Still in pristine condition and keeps me accompany on my daily trip to clients' office and attract a lot of attention. Any interested please do let me know, I am looking for a Mini Cooper , a smaller car due to my age is catching up with me.

haha is it on?? bit different in sound compared to my -83 240D! yours in real nice cond.! check mine out ive restored it from sitting 3 years on a field! :) though need some finishing painting and such, but it passed the inspection and is fully legall to drive! greetz from a w123 owner in Sweden!
