Very nice bro. I too went with a PowerStop brake upgrade on my Lude a good few years ago (their slotted and cross drilled rotors with ceramic pads). Night and day difference in the stopping performance.
If your rotors don’t have grooves or excessive scoring, you can take it to a shop to get machined and you only get new pads. But if they have excessive scoring or if the rotor is warped, you need new rotors and pads.
Recently did mine but couldn’t remember which inner pad went on which side for the wear indicator. Fought thru 10 min of horrible music but thanks Helms manual
It’s hard to use good music that isn’t copy righted. If copyright infringement wasn’t a thing I would use better music trust me. I’m also going to stop using music from now on since people are complaining about that.
@@pacificislander718 yeah replace the rotors, they are cheap (most of the time) and since youre jacking the car up and taking the wheel off you might as well. Brake cleaner is only to help clean the rotor from debris. you need to apply brake grease/lubricant to make it quiet. there are some videos that explain why its important.

Have a 98 honda prelude, replaced brake pads with akebono pads. Prelude is down no start issues. Timing belt rip
Oh shit, hope youre okay. I replaced my belt last summer, I have to rip it apart again because the stupid timing cover seal won’t stay on.
Hey man if you were only doing pads you would just do the first step and remove the top of the caliper and slide in the new brakes, right?
Yeah, you can do that.
I have a 98 SH, and the brakes are squeeking. Is it necessary to replace rotors or if they are in good shape the pads are likely fine to replace only?

Do u need to put lube or whatever u put on the pads?
It helps reduce noise like squeaking whenever you brake. it also helps prevent seizing. So yes you should put brake grease.
@@preludeboy99 can i just spray some brake cleaner and wipe it down? Also since I’m replacing the pads should I just go ahead and change the rotors?
