Some of them have been pretty tough for sure! But surprisingly, many of them have split relatively easy. I’m glad it’s all white oak. It makes for some great firewood!
Good old stave mill on Cranston road. I work at SRG Global and stop for loads of the 3 foot quarter bolts a few days a week when I leave work and haul them home to Elliott county cut split and sell. I’ve made a lot of money from that white oak pile which is a lot bigger right now.
They are great sources of firewood, that’s for sure! I’m very thankful to know of this location now. It sounds like you’ve got a good thing going as well. For those that burn or sell firewood, the stave mills are a blessing!
ya keep selling it ya can buy a trailer to load up from the mill and haul alot more at a time. but ya found a small gold mine with all the wood.. dont forget that the smaller rounds 3 to 6 inch rounds can be used for smoker wood.. in mn i sell smoker wood for 25 bucks for a 5 gallon bucket full. get boxes at walmart to dump em in tho and dont give away your buckets. good work yall .
I agree, a trailer would make the trips much more profitable! This location is a blessing for sure. That’s a smart thing that you’ve got going with the smaller wood. I may try that as well. I have thought about trying bundles because I have never tried them. It seems like some people do well with them. Thank you very much for the kind words 🙏 we appreciate it a lot
I can see splitting there on site as a liability. I know where i cut and split at my friends tree service yard. i have signed a liability waiver. So if i get hurt, it's all on me
Very true, Daniel. Ronald told me that one of the workers told him that they used to let people split there until somebody hit a truck with a piece of wood that flew at it while they were splitting. The owner of the truck tried to get the mill to pay for it. So I can see their point for sure 👍
Eine Menge Arbeit und Holz...
Wünsche dir und deiner Familie, eine schöne Woche.
I hope you have a blessed week as well, Peter , and it’s always good to hear from my friend from Germany 🙏
You’re right brother. Chopping it up is the easy part 😅
Getting the wood is the hard part, in my opinion!

That’s a big pile of jump butts, boss man that’s tough grain to split

@bluegrassoutdoors : only takes the 1 guy to wreck it for everyone else
You guys need a DODGE TRUCK?
I like dodges as well, myself 👍 my last truck was a dodge ram 1500. I really enjoyed it and got a lot of work done with it!
