There's good sacks and bad sacks. Small sacks and big sacks. Stinky sacks and clean sacks. Some sacks are brown, some sacks are white, and some sacks are even blue.

There is truth to this. If you take a sack on 3rd down, (when out of FG range) it's really the same as an incomplete pass since you will be punting anyway. Of course you'd rather see him convert, but it's definitely not as bad as taking a sack on 1st down where you could derail the drive completely trying to get those yards back. A sack is always a bad play, but there are definitely some that are not as bad as others, which is all he's trying to say.
The logic makes sense but I feel like there’s something wrong with that mentality of “who cares about 3rd down sack” the answer, YOU the quarterback should care.

He’s right but the comments are trying to be smart lol. The only thing he’s missing is that he’s taking too many hits. Sacks as a stat don’t always represent the events of the game, especially when it’s a guy known for extending plays and being a playmaker
Third down he’s trying to extend the play as long as possible. It’s better to be sacked & punt than throw an interception or even just an incompletion when you could of made some shifty moves out of the pocket to extend for 3 more seconds and get that first. Yalls don’t know football goddam 😂

Which would have happened on a incompletw pass or a tackle before the first down marker. Whereas a sack on 1st or 2nd down means you have to try to make up those yards to get a first down. You're not smart

A sack on 3rd down is pretty crucial
Not if theyre far from field goal range, because theyre gonna punt the ball away for 60 yards away on the next play anyways

but that's not the point here.
the point is that on 3rd down outside of FG range: a sack, incompletion, and small gain (short of the 1st down) all result in a punt. so in that scenario a sack and an incompletion are EQUALLY bad.
in contrast, on a 1st down, a sack is significantly WORSE than an incompletion.
