    I’m confused about what you were saying regarding the greatest magnitude half reaction being the cathode end. The zinc half reaction has the highest magnitude in this example , but it’s the anode?

    Sorry you lost me when you started speaking about current? What exactly is current made up of?

      Back in the day, current was measured as the movement of positive charge. This was due to a lack of understanding at the time. In reality, current is caused by the flow of negatively charged electrons. But because of tradition, we keep measuring flow as the movement of positive charge, even when no physical positively charged molecule is moving/present.
      Basically: current is defined as the movement of positive charge, so it moves in the opposite direction that electrons move.
