The producer that you mentioned, Yang Hyun-suk, is "YG". In the 90's he was a member of the group "Seo Taiji and Boys" and performed under the stage name of "Yang Goon". He founded YG Entertainment shortly after the group disbanded. He stepped down from the CEO position a few years ago after getting caught up in some scandals but has remained behind the scenes as an Executive Producer.
So He's Actually Been In The Industry And Know What It Takes To Become An Idol I Assume. Could This Be The Reason Why They Have Long Training Periods ?
@@ZukiKrueger He's an OG for sure with a dancer/rapper background. Idk that he trains much longer than other big companies like SM or JYP, but he does not create new groups as frequently as they have. He gets a lot of criticism in the k-pop fandom for various reasons, but the idols that do debut under him are always skilled and can perform live and carry a stage.
21:27 I think her voice changed slightly now or she learned how to control it cause now her raps are always fire and are sometimes the most replayed parts in the songs
YG really is giving the proper training for aspiring idols. It is a long process but they make sure that they are loaded with weapons before deploying them. No more arguement that's the reason why they are leading this generation
I'm glad you got to watch this, their pre-debut eraa. You're gonna love and root for them, for suré. They're all versatile and aces. The best group indeed!!
I completely agreed with you about not comparing yourself to others during the Ruka interview but what I got from her interview is more so bc during that very point in time. She was still a trainee, and she just turned 20, (usually people that are a little older in age might not have a higher chance of debuting) especially during pre-debut era, when you don’t know if you will debut at all. YG trainees usually never really get to debut bc of the long years of practice. (Among YG stan they have a famous name for trainees called “YG dungeon” From 2ne1 to blackpink and to baby monster, it takes about 7 years to debut a girl group. Hopefully that clarify any questions you might have.
Is That A Real Thing That Once You Are Above A Certain Age You Possibly Won't Debut? Or Is That Just An Inside Joke People Make ? 7 Years Is A Crazy Amount Of Time, Literally Giving Up Most Of Your Childhood If You Start At 13 And Up Until You Are 20 , Just For A CHANCE
@ From my understanding of all of this kpop companies (beside one or two companies that I actually saw their poster for recruitment, they do put a age limit for those that wants to sign up) but I don’t ever recall them coming out and stated at a certain age you won’t debut if your a trainee but looking at the ongoing “trainee” trends. I’ll said yes, there is an age limit. It’s like 99.9% if you’re lucky you will get to debut at 20 or plus. For the baby monster girls case, it’s a little different. YG the company is known for not debuting groups until they know for sure that, that group is perfect and ready to debut ( which can be from 5 to 7 years) but if the girls have went to other big companies. Most likely the longest can be 1 to 2 years or shorter. And I’ll like to add as well. One of the reasons why some choose to join YG is that most of their girl group are really successful. (Example: 2ne1, has a huge fan base back in korea and the Asia side. And we have blackpink that has a global fan base) Hence why they joined when there’s a high chance you might not get to debut.
For real though, babymonster has been a stand out. they are fkcin talented. This is a good watch to better understand the girls . at the moment, Asa is my bias, she kinda reminds me of Ayaka from JYP's NiziU, Rami is someone i like too just cause i learned she lived in the Philippines for a few months.
Yeah Chiquita trained for a year and 9 months before debuting where some were trainees for 6 years or 3 years , also that's why her introduction video doesn't have much of her evaluations cause she joined the group last in 2021

@@Aurora143-h yeah that was their official debut but they did debut with Batter up and they didn't do any training that's why she only trained for 1 year and 9 months.
