She basically raised him acting as a big sister figure after Grandpa Gohan died. Without her looking for the Dragon Balls, her life would have been the same.
No matter my age, the year or the time, this scene will always hit a special place in my heart. Funimation really the only ones that know how to create these moments

Ever since you were born you've only heard stories about how great your dad is and the second he shows up you see every adult (your mom included) getting teary-eyed and crowding him to welcome him back. I feel very sad for gohan for what he has gone through in his life. After all the crazy fightings he had gone through till 11 years old.. And then he lost his father and have to take care of his mother and lil brother ❣️
The thing is... People need to understand that people have different ways of showing love. Just because IT'S YOUR PREFERENCE of liking this one better, doesn't give you the right to be ignorant or ignore what's been shown throughout the series. Goku is a loving father and husband in my eyes. A loving father in that sense that, when he first saw Goten when he gets to come back for a day, he held Goten in his arms like a loving father. And that is sweet in my eyes. A loving husband, is in his own way, him being one of the strongest (if not the strongest) saiyan on Earth, he actually listens and do farming and go out and get groceries etc just because Chi Chi said so. So that on his own is a loving husband in his own way. Yes, I agree that Goku isn't a romantic type of guy, but it doesn't mean he doesn't love Chi Chi (like a husband would) or Goten and Gohan like a father would. I've seen so many times that people like to compare Goku to Vegeta and I am honestly getting sick and tired of this. Before I read comments, I didn't think there are people out there who actually says Goku is a jerk or hates him -___- Sure those are some few people out there. If it's a joke, I personally don't find it funny at all seeing this repeatedly. What I am trying to say is. Vegeta never held Trunks like a father would when he was born, but Goku did for both his son. BUT does that mean I am trying to say Vegeta is a bad/unloving father? Sure he may be strict and all BUT no, he isn't a bad/unloving father to me. He loves his wife and child, but his way of showing this is in a tsundere way. Goku loves to train to get stronger? Watched this scene in Kai, didn’t even come close to hitting as hard as this version. The music here was literally the best music they could’ve possibly played at this moment, plus, the dialogue, while probably less accurate to the original script, is a lot more heartwarming.

When I first watched this scene, I was in 3rd grade, I remember being so pumped up that Goku can still come back since this was the 2nd time he got resurrected, well not in this scene in particular, but this gave me hope. This was the entry into the Buu saga. I was finishing my college when DB Super came out, and all the DBZ memories came flushing in. Now I have a doctorate and working. I hope there is another Dragon Ball anime after Super. I need Dragon Ball nostalgia.
