    I really like your plumbing set-up. It's a great idea to put the pipes as close to the back wall as possible therefore giving room for good storage in the cabinet. I've seen so many vanities where the plumber took the easy way out and left very little room under the sink due to pipes protruding out.

    Love this book! th-cam.com/users/postUgkxpCNxqmAkyjN6NPx1fyB7QiEFWyO5mUWL it is simply one-of-a-kind! I really love it, because karah explained all tools required to have the job done, not mentioning the fabulous diy pallets ideas. I'm pretty sure this will be a fresh start in my new endeavour. Amazon was great, they delivered on time. Thank you!

    As you were installing the vanity, I was thinking that it really seems short, which got me to thinking about how I might like to make my own counters & vanity a bit taller than normal. I'm only 6' tall, but I've always found standard height to be a pain in the back when doing dishes or shaving, etc.
    Seeing the sink in place made it clear why it seemed short, though. That's a very nice choice for a sink, too.

      Robert Farmer I know your pain. Being 6'3'', my back just kills me when I'm doing dishes. One day I will build a house with adjustable height countertops

    Everything you do looks so easy to do that I want to do it myself, but I know that I'm fooling myself. This is not that easy, you are just very good at it. Excellent result so far though. That vanity looks really nice.

    I wish I had known it was acceptable to use latex caulk for the sink to cabinet connection a few weeks ago. After installing an undermount sink with silicone, I discovered a defect in the sink and had to replace it. Getting it back off the wood counter was a nightmare!

    • @christopherbaker4460
      @christopherbaker4460 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Over the finished floor would be best. It leaves another layer of protection from water or pests. It also allows future owners the ability to swap out the vanity without having to do anything to the floor. It’s also easier to install/make the vanity to a size you want with less hassle.

    Lol STOP what you're doing!!! mains sockets and rocker light switches in a bathroom!!! Are you crazy!!! I suppose the laws governing that kind of thing in your part of the world is completely different to the UK, just seems very strange seeing rocker switches and mains sockets that close to a sink in a bathroom environment, in the UK that's just completely prohibited.
    The above is not a dig in any way, seen loads of videos with switches and sockets in bathrooms on TH-cam. I just find it weird to see sockets and light switches in bathrooms, we have to have pull cord switches in the UK, since you're probably on low voltage systems in your part of the world there's probably completely different rules. Very nice work as usual. I do look forward to your videos on all your channels i subscribe to all four of them. Thanks for all your working editing and uploading and of course in the work and detailing you show. Yours the DM UK.

      In the U.S. bathroom outlets, just like kitchen countertop outlets, have to be GFCI protected. So just about every bathroom in the U. S. will have an outlet next to the vanity for hair dryers, curling irons, electric shavers, water pics, etc.

    • @theDaftman
      @theDaftman 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bathrooms in the UK are zero rated. I remember times when we used to run cables under baths from consumer units on a wall from the room downstairs, you get locked up now in the UK for that, like I say zero rated. all the switches on the walls in this video would be prohibited in the UK, they would have to be on pull cord switches for showers lights and vents, rocker switches particularly are just prohibited. It's been sometime since I worked in the industry as I'm retired now, I remember the golden rule, it was, if you can touch water and a socket or a switch At the same time it's prohibited end of. Yours the DM in UK.

      I won't even go into tap,pipework,drain earth bonding. I just find it incredible that anyone would have a power outlet next to a sink. Because he lives alone, I know he wouldn't be that stupid but the potential is there. ( I get the impression he lives alone) ,It's not a dig it’s just an observation of the differences in the laws regarding this kind of thing around the globe that just surprise me. Yours the DM UK.
