Now there is well-established mettled road network. I was in the area during 1965 and we had to move on foot. Our last post was Baingdango. Turtuk was regained in 1971.
28:40 There is a metal bridge seen at this point. You need to cross the bridge to get to the border post where there are bunkers. If you do not approach the bridge and go straight the road leads to Skardu. That road is blocked by the authorities and since the road is not maintained it is naturally blocked by rockfalls, but you can see it on the left-hand side of the river while you drive on the right side to reach the border post, from where you can see the Pakistani border post flags with a binocular. This is as per summer 2018.

Children were asking money from stranger. This practice was there in mainland some 25 years back. Not now Even in so called poor states such as Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa etc. Children won't ask anything from strangers. Place is beautiful. But, poverty is there in Himalayan region

Army Field Hospital is present in Hunder village Very nice location But much worst condition in winter season We oftenly use this road for transport from Hunder Hospital to Tyakshi 4 to 5 times in month Approax 11500 feet above mean sea level Roads are very shorts in width No network coverage that time. BSNL(Jammu state) only gets covarage. Other states sim not accepted.. Really beautiful from April to August Oxygen level goes less as u go to upward area At winter road gets slippery cause of snowfall.. Thanks for flashback me
