The kids dont care about details that stresses us out, they care about the moment you put it all together that makes them feel special because you did it for them. Awesome! I did a unicorn party for my daughters 6th birthday last weekend and made the cake also. Next time level your top cake layer too and after filling your layers, before trying to frost the outside, chill the cake in the fridge so the filling sets to stop the cake from sliding. Then put plenty of frosting on the outside of the cake and use the scraper to smooth it and scrape the extra off. It makes it easier than adding and trying to smooth then adding and smoothing etc. You can also do a crumb coat (thin frosting layer) first and chill the cake so that you can then do your final smooth frosting

I had a stuffed unicorn, posters, figurines....all of it..lol so seeing this was beyond sweet. I loved that YOU did everything yourself & made the cupcakes & her cake. It means that much more, when it's made. The look of the Unicorn cake, looked like something you'd buy in a bakery...so perfect!! It all turned out PERFECT!!

I always watch these kinda obsessed if you ask me but I really do think you underestimate yourself you have no idea how talented you are… the fact that you give new things a go and with effort yet the end result still turns out amazing…. This is coming from someone who would love to go into being a party planner herself as a job 😍😍😍
What a great job you did! For future cake making you could always cook the cake 1 before then let it cool completely, brush sugar syrup on top of the cake (keeps it moist) then once it's completely cool. Wrap it about 3 or 4 times in cling wrap super tight and stick it in an airtight container. You can then take it out 2 days before or the day before whenever you want to decorate it and whilst it's semi frozen do your carving. It'll come out neater because the cake isn't soft yet and you won't get crumbs everywhere. Then ice and decorate and you've got yourself a lovely cake without all the stress. Cake will be soft and moist as if you baked it that morning

I'm not quite a professional yet, but I've been interning for my neighbor who owns her own cake business. My first solo cake was a unicorn cake and I must admit, you did fabulously ❤️ totally cute. I found the unicorn kit (horn, ears and eyelashes) at Walmart, but it was super close to the one you used! And those sprinkles to hide the little, tiny flaws, that's a secret my professional baker neighbor gave me. Works every time! You did wonderfully, little mama! ❤️

hey girl! loved the fresh flower touch! so special! and baking from scratch is something that you don't perfect on the first try! I have always done my cakes from scratch, but not a birthday cake! I am not a decorator! my daughter in law is really good at doing icing, so together we make a good team! the cake was really cute and I think that you did really good! next... tomato roses? do you make shapes with your veggies for your kids? my mother in law used to work in a college cafeteria and she perfected the art of making different shapes with her veggies and fruit, so much so that you didn't want to eat it, it was so pretty! love ya girl!

Love the effort put into this , it turned out beautifully. And for anyone wanting to make a balloon arch I recommend buying an electric balloon pump from Amazon. It saves so much time and breath for that matter lol

use an ice cream scooper to scoop your cake mix into each cupcake hole! it ends up being so much easier and the perfect amount in each spot. you did amazing, you are truly my spirit animal. I now have to attempt a ballooon arch 🙄😆

Last oct. when I turned 29 I tried making a bucket list of things I wanted to do before I turn 30, literally the only thing I ever added was make a multi-layer cake 😂here I am almost 30 and still haven't done it but I feel inspired by yours maybe I'll still try and bust it out and hell maybe I'll do a unicorn one and do a 30 year old smash cake photo shoot 😂😂😂hahahaha

A tip for the cupcake batter is to use an ice cream scooper with a lever so that you can measure them all evenly and not have to hold the bowl! Everything looks so cute btw 💕

I make cakes for a living and think you did a great job! In a pinch, I sometimes will use box cake mix, then make buttercream frosting. This party was Soo cute!!
