Thank you sir. I have a bunch attacking my 1880 barn that is still in great condition, and just got a new foundation. I love the old farmstead and I use it as a small farm. I keep everything repaired. Trying to keep it lasting forever.
Your welcome my friend. These traps will help you in time as you will see, If you follow the setup steps before you hang them up. Best to start this in early March. At the first sign of warm weather. You got to beat them to the punch. All you need to know is in the videos. They are done in their nest now. They really do work my friend.
These how to videos are nice to see. Those bees have drilled many a hole in my house already, but I'll be ready for them this year. Thanks so much for this great idea. Your friend, Louise
I like the idea of only two access holes. I originally made my first ones with four access holes. I have sat on my deck and watched bees climb in one access hole and exit another access hole never getting into the trap. I actually think one access hole might be the best.
I made some and drilled four holes. Even some of yours showed four.. This video says two holes and I can see the validity of only two. Guess I’ll make a couple more! Nice video, thanks.
When we had the first bees drilling holes in the porch my wife accused me of getting sawdust on the floor. She thought it was falling off of my clothes from the wood shop that was a hundred feet away. I told her she was crazy 😜 that it wasn’t from me then one day I saw 👀 the dust falling out of the hole. I built my first trap to day. It didn’t take ten minutes.
If you would like to getting rid of them from all over your property ... take a brown paper bag and puff it out and fill with another bag. In the mind of the carpenter bee it has the appearance of a Hornets nest! The carpenter bees will evacuate the area! I have one bag under my porch and it has gotten rid of all the bees from my property. I was covered up with them around my bedroom deck and they are gone as well as all others.
@@donnielaws7020 btw I have in the past made a good income from selling the traps until I heard about the bag trick ... it worked so ... loss of income for me ... but better to rid the house of the pests.
I have had the same problem my friend. Is your treated lumber more than a year old. They don't treat the wood like thy use to (EPA). The treatment they use don't last very long at all. It dries out to quick. Lately I noticed one drilling in to my porch swing arm on the bottom and not the house. So strange. It is treated wood, But 10 years old. You make a good point. Thanks for the comment my friend.

How they get out through the bottle cap
There is a hole drilled it. I have videos on how to completely make one my friend.
If they don`t like treated lumber then tell me why my deck with all treated lumber is full of holes with carpenter bees crawling in and out.
