Disney buying 20th Century Fox was the worst thing to happen to the film industry in decades. 7000+ layoffs world wide and less diversity in genre storytelling. As we've seen, Disney has done a terrible job continuing the legacy of 20th Century Fox and have no interest in adult content. We will never get movies like 'Fight Club', 'Titanic', 'Mouin Rouge', 'Die Hard' etc again. Disney never takes risks on bold storytelling, everything has to be branded and focused on franchise vs actually telling a good story which is what movies are for.
Name decisions that you find catastrophic that Bob chapek made.. I'm curious... I like chapek a bit.. So what do you think he's done wrong in the past near two years as ceo
@@jamie7708 there has been lots of backlash with regards to the launch of Genie + not only within consumers but inside of the Disney Company in general.

While he certainly will be remembered for his aggression to scale the business you can’t discount the shape Disney is in now. High debts, thin margins with some of the new acquisition and IP’s losing value. Quantity over quality if you ask me. I’m not ready to discount Chapek until after the fire drill period is over which who knows how long will last.
I hate the all family friendly philosophy. It hurts even the pg 13 movies in a visual level, cinematic level and in filmmaking in general, so i hate this guy.

Bob was also at the helm of Disney when it acquired both Marvel and Star Wars. Two of the biggest acquisitions and power moves in entertainment to date. Not to mention the acquisition of Fox.

Bob Iger is a legend. He took Disney to a new level with all the deals that he crafted.

Iger put Disney in debt over paying for Fox so Chapek has to pay the debt. If you put Iger in charge again he'll just make things worse.
