KONA was a pioneer in the feature packed EV segment in Nepal. I remember being wowed by the mere sight of one zooming by 5 years ago. Thanks for making this video Awashish Ji. I am tired of explaining to people. Before you replace a battery of an EV, you will replace the engine of an ICE vehicle 5 times over.
Thank you, Awashis, for your honest and unbiased review of the Hyundai Kona. Your videos not only provide detailed information, but they also offer insightful conclusions that viewers can take away. Keep up the excellent work! Regarding Hyundai, I believe it stands out from other brands in Nepal. Whether it's the product or the distributor managing the Nepal market, Hyundai has always been vision-driven rather than opportunity-driven. This is evident in their approach to new lineups, whether it's ICE, electric vehicles, or the recent assembly factory. To address your first query about the official range of the Kona, the 312 km figure for the 39 kWh battery is based on combined urban and extra-urban conditions. The minimum mileage the Kona can achieve on a single charge is indeed 312 km, with an additional reserve of about 8-9% not reflected in the official range. This reserve can vary depending on driving conditions and driver habits. Since EV user need proper plan on their regular commuting, accurate range information helps to plan their journeys better, which is why the Kona often exceeds the range shown on the display. Your second query about Hyundai's DC charging initiatives . Hyundai has positioned the Kona and Ioniq 5 as reliable secondary premium EVs for daily use, focusing on city-to-city travel with decent range to cover from one city to another. Whatsoecer In 2019, Hyundai began installing AC 11KWand 22 kW chargers at hotels and restaurants, malls and played a significant role in educating NEA authorities about the need for DC chargers, even initail education for the details on charger types, socket types, and amp ratings as only few brand had ev during that time. As both the Kona and Ioniq are primarily city cars, the emphasis on AC chargers was deemed more relevant. Hyundai has also invested more of its need on the infrastructure development, modern equipment, and training of our people technical and non technical, with around 90% of EV-certified personnel across its network is the current outcome. Although DC chargers are a new need, Hyundai's focus has been on balancing various aspects of the EV ecosystem, including training, battery recycling, and equipment which are also another important factor of ev ecosystem. For example, if a restaurant sells only dosa, the focus is on sambar and coconut chutney rather than Raita. However, for Hyderabadi biryani resturent raita becomes essential. Similarly, Hyundai prioritizes different elements of the EV ecosystem based on the models we offer as of now. Looking ahead, the 2025 Creta EV will be a mainstream vehicle for many people , and there’s no doubt Hyundai will introduce DC chargers as well. Cheers!
Youve made me want to now review my own kona haha 🎉 ani 388 is the highest reading on mine when i charge to 100% but with AC and everything i realistically get 310-340 depending on driving conditions 😂 the efficiency from the small battery and torquey motor calibration is actually crazy 😅

Happy because it is the first EV that I am testing which is delivering the range more that what company is saying. . . . 388 kilometers without AC ? that's amazing..
