Lost in a Tundra white out snow storm avalanche area Whistler BC

Its a snow storm white out I tried to follow some skiers but, lost them and couldn't see anything. The powder looked fresh with no tracks and was 3 feet deep. I could not see where I was pasted 1 foot so didn't know if cliffs were in front of me. Tried to go towards where the lift was, saw a sign ahead went to read it. It said avalanche area stay out. finally some skiers came down and help guide me to safety.
