Glad I'm not the only one that thinks this is the best episode so far. I'm a sucker for character development episodes, so my favorites are 4 and 6 so far. The way some of these scenes hit me in the feels, I swear, no other show has done that to me. I've only gotten that feeling with videogames like TLOU itself and RDR2, the attachment I have with this characters is unhealthy

Oh my, your love for Pedro is beautiful to behold. And.... I'm on that Pedro train, as well. The only actor I've ever liked as much as I do Pedro is Ewan McGregor, who for years was my personal Joy Angel. Just something about him made me smile and feel safe. Pedro has the same qualities. As a person, he's beautiful to look at, yes, but he also exudes emotional safety and an unexpected goofiness. He plays these hard edged characters that still possess vulnerability. Lots to love about The Pascal. 🥰
Yeah I was a bit confused about Joel pulling out the bat handle too. Usually you have to keep it in to avoid any further damage. But then I thought about it and came up with the conclusion that it was probably the best choice given the circumstances. They needed to escape on horseback quick. When riding a horse you jump off your saddle ALOT, especially at high speeds, which is what they needed to do in order to escape. The bat handle near his intestines would likely continue piercing and damaging his organs if he was to leave it in while riding away. Even trying to hold it still would still damage him because he wouldn’t be able to control his stability. He had to make a choice, it was a risky one, but compared to further damaging his organs by riding with the bat handle or staying and getting killed, I think it was the best choice given the circumstances.
Heya Katie! I just started watching this show. It’s phenomenal! Episode 3 so far is my favorite. But these past couple of episodes have had me crying like a baby. I've been loving this series so far and Episode 6 has gotta be my favourite one so far and it's thanks to the performances of Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey. Having played the game and knowing where the story is going from here...I am both curious but also pretty nervous because it's the part of the game where shit gets real!!

Might I suggest one of the most original and clever zombie films ever made? "One Cut of the Dead" A Japanese film with a budget of $25,000 and went on to make $30M+ worldwide and has a Rotten Tomatoes score of 100%. The only problem is that it is so easily spoiled. Any trailer, synopsis, review, etc. is going to spoil this movie. Even a single word describing the genre of this movie is a spoiler. And it's best to go in completely cold to truly enjoy this gem of a movie. P.S. It's best viewed with English subtitles and the original Japanese dialogue.
When I tell you this show hurts SO MUCH MORE when you lost your own father figure and essentially your only parental figure, the seconds game HURTS. All this game series is is PAINNNN.

This is why this has been the only shooter video game that I like. There are so many video games out there where you can just turn off your feelings and become a killing machine, shooting and killing your way into getting better and better at such violence with no issues, but this game was different. It was created so that you feel remorse for killing, especially the NPCs you don't have to kill. (like most of the dogs) This world is still so far fetched but it to me allows me to feel the way I would feel if this were to really take place. For to many of us, life is worth something and to just kill with no remorse is not in any way desirable.
Thank you it annoyed me so much Tommy & Maria acting like they are better than Joel when they literally admitted to killing people also 😂 I can’t believe we only have three more episodes left 😭

It speaks volumes about the writers and actors etc that every single episode has a massive emotional scene that punches you in the stomach. All the more impressive as it does it with characters just introduced like Bill and Frank. 6 for 6 so far.
He had to pull the thing out, if it was still in after getting on the horse it would tear up his insides. That bit of pop-medicine only applies if you can keep still.

This whole episode within the video game had a bunch of action in it. From the attack at the dam (did not happen on the show), then Ellie running away to that farm house where they also get attacked, to the Cannibals chasing Joel and Ellie through the University. Yes those were David's henchmen that he sent to look for food and supplies. David will show up later on and I wonder how they're going to handle Ellie and David's scene. I guess they're on the small budget so they can't really do a ton of action scenes. that or they're saving it for the finale. Next episode is a flashback episode based around the DLC. I know Neil druckman said there is an upcoming back story episode involving Ellie's mom. It was something he wrote for the game after it was done and he was unable to fit it into the game. So now he gets the chance to fit it into the series. It could be part of the next episode or maybe further on down the line.
I mean, Tommy’s not fully in the wrong for not wanting Joel around his family, Joel did some pretty disgusting stuff that even Tommy wasn’t okay with in the 20 years since the apocalypse.
how is he even going to get up on the horse let alone ride it with that thing sticking out of him? if he managed it the movement would definitely cause more internal injury. under the circumstances what he did was smart.
I loved this ep so much but i do have one criticism. I get scaling back the action from the waves of raiders you fight in the game, but I really wish there had been more of a battle at the university leading into Joel getting stabbed. Small gripe in an otherwise stellar ep tho. 8.5/10

True . But pulling it out could also cause him to bleed out , or pass out from blood loss . Both options are risky I guess .
