All sharks have an element of danger and should be treated with great respect especially the size of that lemon in your vid which is quite large, but typically, No, lemons are not particularly dangerous. HOWEVER, different situations can alter their behavior. For instance, in your video it appears that the shark was definitely scoping you out, they often see you well before you know they are there. If that is a spearfishing hotzone the shark will know what you're there for and can associate your presence/behavior with food and that can turn dangerous. On the other hand I've been to several popular shark locales, French Polynesia seems to stand out, there I saw some of the biggest lemons (upwards of 9-10 feet heavy set monstrous looking things) and the local dive masters were hand feeding, petting and riding some of them. It all depends on how habituated they are to human contact those sharks I just mentioned are extremely used to people. In summation, it depends on various factors but always treat them with caution and know your surroundings (e.g. have people been fishing at your location and leaving bait and chum in the water before you arrived? Is visibility good so you can see what is down there with you etc). More importantly don't behave or appear like a prey item (no erratic splashing/swimming away from the shark hold your ground, stay calm and slowly leave the water if uncomfortable, its similar to if you would encounter a bear in the wild). Lastly, dont wear bright colors that resemble fish. Just take precaution and you will be perfectly fine, and enjoy them when you see them they are simply awesome!
You were lucky it wasn't a "BULL" shark this was a Lemon shark you did the right thing, stay calm no sudden movements and most of all no dead fish on your belt! This is why we never ever dive alone! God Bless!

Hey bro... i've worn a lot of wet suits in my 20+ years in the water. Wetsuits today are so so good, and believe me most of the brands are using exactly the same materials... for me heiwa is by ar the best material out there

Did you bail upto the top because of the shark or were you heading up anyway? I only ask cause I've seen other footage of people spearing with bulls and they don't seem to be so fussed but I have seen bulls aggressive towards divers aswell I know here in Australia we've plenty of really bad attacks with bull sharks

Bull sharks in Australia are one other biggest threats to spearos. Probably next to hammer heads. Bulls are teraterial of their grounds and will attack for little reasons. Have great visabilty in low vis water and can and do travel along fresh water systems.

Δεν τον ξεχωρίζω καλά μέσα στιν θολούρα, αλλά με αυτό το κόψιμο, και αυτό το λιπώδες πτερύγιο μάλλον Αγριοκαρχαριας είναι (Odontaspis ferox), η Ταυροκαρχαριας (Carcharias taurus). Όπως και να έχει, τρομερό βίντεο φίλε! You expected an amberjack, but then a shark entered your sights... lol... kept your cool though! Takes a cool head, and nerves of steel... Not convinced this is a Bull-shark though (Carcharhinus leucas)... Bull’s have a stockier build, and an attitude to match. Visibility is limited, but based on built and the adipose fin, I’d say this is likely a Smalltooth Sand Tiger (Odontaspis ferox), or a Sand Tiger Shark (Carcharias taurus). Not a bull shark. Second dorsal (adipose) fin is too big and the caudal (tail) fin is too high. Bull sharks are also noticeably heavy/stout for their length. This would be a very skinny bull. Still, Best not to dive in murky water.
Reel Life if it had teeth sticking out of its mouth then it's a sand tiger... I'm pretty sure discovery named bull shark the most dangerous followed by great white and Tiger... not sure where the sand tiger is ranked

Καλες αναδυσεις αδελφε μου. Εχω δει 3ς φορες καρχαρια στην Ελλαδα. Και οι 3ς ηταν τελειως αδιαφοροι ... αλλα ποτε δεν ξερεις 😊👌

Its a lemon shark, not a bull. Its body is not stocky enough and its second dorsal fin is almost as large as the first.
