I use to live in Montreal from 1983 to 1993 this is i love Montreal the way how the city the remove the snow very nice and clean but not in Toronto thanks for sharing your video take care bye from milton Ontario Canada
Hi Elton, speaking about the environment at 11:40 or, is the city still dumping snow into the river? I am sure they are by seeing some of your videos in the past. The amount of salt and other stuff in that snow must put stress on the eco system, I know Montreal uses tons of salt and other chemicals to keep the roads wet rather then snow covered or icy for many months at a time. For a province so bent on the environment this is a bit ironic! I remember when I lived there just how rusty cars would get in a short time. I enjoy your videos, they bring back bittersweet memories living there. I remember when the old Sicard snow blowers or similar were still in use. The roar of those things when they revved up is a sound never forgotten!
They stopped dumping snow into the river years ago, due to the very reasons you outlined... They use snow dumps now, the largest is the Francon snow depot, formerly a quarry, which receives roughly 40 per cent of the city's snow. The snow that is dumped there slowly melts from the quarry in the summertime and is processed by the wastewater system
I think 2 snowblower guards is a very good idea. I remember back in the 80's seeing the news about a guard that slipped and fell and could not get up. The blower driver did not notice and, well, you know. It was horrible. What a tragedy.
Yes, Elton, there is a stop sign at 9:22, but the guard waved them through so they would not have to wait.
thanks

In Boston area in 2014, we got about 11 ft. of snow, so much that cities and towns needed premission from the Goverment to dump the snow in the ocean.
I used to run one of those loader blowers out on country roads. Man could they ever blow snow a long way.
