Today's video is a bit different because we all have dirt in our John Deere combine harvester headers! This is really getting old! I am helping clean out all the headers because Austin says he doesn't know how. Dad is supervising and is hilarious. It is quite a day, and I'm not sure if I'm doing combine gymnastics or combine ballet! Thank you for watching, and I hope you enjoy my video!

My Story…
Hello. My name is Kate Stephens, and I am an 18-year-old 4th-generation Montana farmer. My family has been farming wheat in north-central Montana since my great-grandfather immigrated from Denmark in 1912 and homesteaded our land. My family has been teaching me about farming since I was two years old. I run one of the combines on the farm at harvest. I believe that it is important for everyone to know where their food comes from and the families who produce it. I love our farm, and I hope that my Farm to Fashion and Farm to Table products can help educate people about where their food comes from in a fun way. That is how Kate's Ag - Farm to Fashion became a reality. I hope you love my products as much as I do because this is an extension of our farm and the grains we have been growing to feed other families for over one hundred years.

Hey Boss Lady Kate, time to give cleaning the combine tutorial 101. There's a whole gamut of your personality showing in this vlog - from disappointed (knowing the header has to be unclogged), aghast and unbelieving (Austin not knowing how), serious (showing him how to do it), twitchy/squirmy (when those rods poke you), comedic (your remark about Hazmat suit and falling on your bottom) and upset and a little fierce (doing what seemed to be right but still ending up plugging/clogging the combine and had to clean/unclog it again). When Austin (?) said "we are supposed to be harvesting wheat not dirt" to you, i spilled my coffee laughing. By the way, It's fun watching you do those "ballet" moves when getting down on that monster header with that fun music.

Oh boy, that was no fun having to clean that out! Fiberglass slivers are the worst, maybe next year, carry a long sleeve shirt with you just for this reason! Enjoy your posts when I get a chance to watch. Your Dad reminds me of mine, a little gruff but a sweetheart! I miss him so much, he passed 5 years ago on Christmas day. Pain-free and a new healthy body, praise God. It's still so hard without him. He farmed all his life & helped raise 8 kids because my Mom had M.S. miss her terribly, too. I got a laugh out of watching Kate interact with Arvin when trying to solve that header problem. Real life, real problems, real dirt, real windy. Then when the editor (mom?) added that "ballerina music" as Kate tried to get out of the head was especially funny. Loved seeing dad behind the wheel while Kate chatters away. You guys are the best.

😃🤣🙃🙂 Farmer Ballet Dancing Ouch! those fiberglass splinters hurt! I would not of thought of it ether. Run to the side a bit and the belt can toss some of the dirt off before getting to the feeder-house. Down the middle is the way one thinks of doing it!

My uncle plugged up twice with beans...we had a hard rain that knocked a bunch over causing the combine to plug.....he just sped up the rpms and slowed down the speed and ran right thru it..but then again that might be the difference between a bean head a d ur wheat head.....we also run Case IH...so yea...lol

In 1976 I planted and sprayed corn with one hand on the steering wheel and other holding a transistor radio with a portable tape recorder to pass the time. One of my favorites was I'M YOUR BOOGY MAN by KC and the Sunshine Band. It describes a radio disk jocky. . I felt sad after Catherine's concert when I suddenly remembered our son James would never again hear her or call for Christmas.
I played the old song, and the fun was back. You are not human if you don't hear that song without dancing. Had you played it as you cleaned your plug ups you would have finished sooner with energy to spare.

What do the metal rods on the top of the wheat header do?
