I'm not against building new home the problem I have is the surrounding infrastructures! Planning isn't the issue, it's right to buy and other policies meant to drive councils out of housing and under. Developers have no incentive to solve the problem because they know that by trickling the supply they can keep prices up while limiting risks and so maximise their business. Really there are only two solutions. Either repeal right to buy and change the funding model so councils can create competition in the housing space, or intervene to break up the developer cartels and make holding on to develop-able land impractical or both.

Probably not ,its all bull crap or they would have some facts on how they are going to do it ,the reason is someone has bought this green belt land cheap as its farm land then when it gets turned to limited building land the value sky rockets and those involved are very happy.

The housing market is broken in the same way my electricity bill is broken because I keep my fridge door permanently wide open.

It will take 2-3 years to get planning permission on new sites, longer if it’s controversial, I.e green belt - promising delivery could rump up immediately is ambitious.

What's the point in building more houses when hard working people can't afford to put the heating on. How does this help the most vulnerable and homeless waiting to be housed? All of it sounds stupid and doesn't add up.
Without vastly reducing immigration, the availability of housing will never improve.
