I love this song - in my opinion it is his best new composition since The Ballad Of The Boy In The Red Shoes from 2001's Songs From The West Coast album. Simply wonderful! Voyeur features on Elton's very good 2013 album The Diving Board.
Yes, he is not 100% here. Maybe he knew it and used the track as support but of course he would never mime! He also gets some of the words mixed up. I think you can see at the end he is a bit disappointed with his performance but hey, good on him for doing something a bit different. I remember when he did bits of this album live, Oceans Away was actually a concert highlight as it was around 100 years since the outbreak of WWI, the band went off and he did it - certainly up in Newcastle. It was excellent. He also gave a great rendition of Oscar Wilde Gets Out when I saw him in Leeds that year but the audience didn't really warm to it and I don't think he ever played it again! It was a good album, quite underrated by both the press and the public. Many people won't appreciate Elton until they did in the treasure trove of songs when he is gone. The man is a genius.
This is a shorter version than the better one on the album with excellent extra piano. Elton gets muddled over the words, e.g sings hotel hundred rooms, instead of hundred hotel rooms. I'm surprised the record company chose this lesser version as a single instead of the catchy Can't Stay Alone Tonight.
Bernie's lyrics are spot on... but I think Elton has a hard time performing them. He obviously uses a teleprompter now and he still stumbles over some words. But he will always be my favorite singer/performer.
Something is off with his voice here, I think he was battling something. I saw him in Bridgeport about a week after this performance and he even said something to the audience about losing his voice. He rocked on for about 2 hours and 45 minutes anyway.
i heard that bridgeport show on youtube and yeah he does say that hes losing his voice but i think that was one of his better concerts in 2013 considering how good he actually sung and how powerful he sounded on songs like voyeur and im still standing and all those rockers and everything
It's not just the 'hotel' line he got muddled up on there... There's a few sections where he almost lost it.. The long Voooooyeur came in too late in the end for example... Does he even practice these before performing anymore?!
Top !!! Sir Elton John has been the soundtrack of my entire life since 1972. Blessings to him cos'he's still standing after all this time.
my favorite off The Diving Board, what an amazing talent

DEFINITELY Elton’s best more recent song!!! Just breathtaking
Peachtree Road was an excellent album. And The bridge was a good song from 2006 I think.
Yes he is getting older and his voice is huskier, but he is my favorite and I will love him till the end.
Fantastic song
Love this !
This song is AMAZING!!! I love it!!!
ELTON JOHN 4EVER!!!
Beautiful songs. Great lyrics.
This is my favorite song from The Diving Board. In fact, it's rocketed up to one of my faves of Elton period.
The first long "Vooooyeur" at the end was intentionally shortened I think, and good for it!
I love this song.
Love this song too girls ! :)
Brilliant song & performance from Elton
Simply the best!
The ending was epic.....
Just beautiful!
Amazing performance can't wait to see it live in 14 days! MSG
Shows the aging process, he is experiencing. Its a great song. Its just sad to hear the struggle . But we all get their in time!

Thank you very much !!!! Do u have it in 720p quality ???
My song thankyou

Notable as one of the few times since at least 1990 that Elton is playing an acoustic piano and not an electric one.
He is miming the piano - singing live over the album track
My first reaction was: it is not the MKS-20 we hear here!
Live vocal. Piano is mimed - it's the album version

It probably isn't so easy when he's having to do shortened versions to fit TV and radio times.
great song but honestly i don't like his voice in 2013 due to his illness.
Sounds better after 2016
The piano sounds suspiciously like it was taken from the album track. Come on, Elton, you might as well be lip syncing.
Caretaker82 blah blah

I hate that the sound in this video is so f**ing low.

The piano we hear is not what he is playing.
He's having to sing over a re-arranged musical recording of the song
not the best song on his album, he seemed to be mumbling still love his stuff, think his voice is starting to get croaky
His voice completely gone! He should write for other people.
