Watch all of our Historic Builds inspired by our Ancestors: th-cam.com/play/PLxnadpeGdTxD9oAbeZcYKiGO7p3gIXmuZ.html * Note - some of this was filmed many years ago so the first shelters aren’t great and I would do them slightly differently now.

You ain't kidding ,I've managed to build a few little things and it takes work, tending fire and everything. Recently camped in the rain and I was able to keep my fire burning through the downfall, it was hectic but a good learning experience.i kinda cheated, used cottonball and Vaseline to start my fire. (Ferro rod) splitting the wood is key if starting a fire in the rain,I was proud of myself for once lol

I'll have to say shelter #2 was my favorite. The moss over structure was perfect for the type of shelter. I would even go so far as to say combining shelter one with the moss on shelter two would be an amazing combination. Both would be perfect for a weekend hunting trip.

Amazing. Can’t wait to try it out. Alot of people are afraid of the forest but I find it the safest most relaxing place ever. Anyone who’s been in the woods all day everyday since they were kids would say this. I trust in the birds. Its when it gets dead silent is when You need to start looking over your shoulder, thats all Im gonna say

    1) Dog is adorable. Take time to play. :)
    2) I really learned a LOT.
    3) On a different channel, a guy cuts a small (4') pine tree, de-limbs all but the bottom row of branches, and then uses it as a carrier for about 30 other pine boughs to take back to camp. Laid the cut branches on that bottom row, then picked it up by the trunk and carried it back to camp. I thought that was darn clever.

A lot of your past woodcraft experiences are condensed into this video. It is good to have done this for all the viewers who have come to the channel, drawn by the Viking House, Saxon House and Pallet Wood cabin series. In the full-length versions, viewers should know that you do talk and do explain what you are doing.

This was fantastic, I camp with the family usually in tents , but I think me and the kids will be practicing this in the fall and winter here in texas , we love being in the desert and arid areas , not much wood , but I believe we can rustle up some mesquite , plus burning mesquite pods keep a lot insects away , like masquitos and flies , I’m not just Mexican but also from the tribe tarahumara , growing up me and my father camped out in the arid climate of Mexico and texas in the middle of summer eating different variety of cactus and yucca , mesquite pods , grinding the seeds down for a sweet tea , people worry about snakes in this area , but they are just an easy good source that you can easily fish with the heat of a campfire

Did you know when sharpening a log to drive in the ground, All you need to do is sharpen on ( one side ) And if you are wanting the log to brace something put the sharpen side ( away from what you want held) As you drive the log in the dirt it will push away from the cut side!

Every bushcraft shelter I've seen on youtube is predicated on the idea that you have lots of pole straight trees as building materials. Hell, so I could build a nice shelter anywhere as long as its in a forest with lots of three inch poles growing out of the ground. How nice.
