@@one-step-beyond-1959These commercials are disruptive and have nothing to do with the pacing of the story. There is nothing I find more annoying and aggravating than my emotions getting involved in another great One Step Beyond story only to have them violently interrupted by another crappy commercial.
I can't get enough of One Step Beyond ... used to watch it with my mom back in the early 60's ... now I'm older and find these episodes intriguing and thought provoking ...
No blood, no gore, no profanity, no CGI, no ‘stars’, black and white, grainy soundtrack. And yet perfect! Btw, 54 and English - never seen this before tonight and going to watch the lot!! Thank you.
Another great program is fact or fiction Although it’s not as old as these episodes it’s still great It’s hosted by Jonathan Frakes Check it out I do not think you’ll be disappointed
The episodes were made 60 years ago, but still are bringing such goosebumps as we see.. Salutes and absolutely reverence to the creators of such fascinating stories.. Thanks for posting these and bringing them out to the world viewers
Here I am, 5 yrs later, also extremely grateful for you uploading this series. I discovered it on your channel. And I am absolutely THRILLED that there are no ads. Thank you 🙏 😊
I used to watch this wonderful program in the 50's in Spanish in Havana, Cuba. It was called "Un Paso al Mas Alla." I was 10. It's great to find it now. Thanks for posting.
Same here ! I remember watching the episodes in Cuba, it will scare the bejesus out of me, but I didn’t stop watching them! Thank you for making these episodes available!

I have never had a tv in my home, I raised my children on taped versions of the shows I grew up with and felt were better than the crap on tv today. I would suggest this for anyone raising kids.
What a beautiful story. It is indeed hard to be confined physically - but with a beautiful, creative mind and BOOKS (!!!), one isn't imprisoned after all.
I watched these as kid. Outer Limits started after and in color . I use run home 1 1/2 miles full tilt. No sweat it was amazing.too me as my dad bought best tv you could own 28 inch color in stereo recorded player cabinet so had awesome sound .
I remember watching One Step Beyond as a boy and The Twilight Zone and the Outer Limits....but One Step Beyond would raise the hair on the back of my neck and truly creep me out! Because they are reported to be actual events!
I have looked several of these stories up online and was amazed that they are true. Verified. I also read that the reason the program stopped was John Newland was running out of verifiable events and refused to offer weaker stories.
my brother and I watched this when we were little. I still get that tingly sensation up the back of my neck when that eerie music, near the end starts up - right when he asks to see the picture of the boy. still works.
A somewhat similar story my father once told me.. there were three individuals who'd gotten lost at sea after a storm that wrecked their boat.. one of the three survivors said to Dad that as they waited for help to arrive hanging on logs.. he said, "We were three during day .. and four at night.". No explanation was linked to that story but I think it was a guardian sent to guard during night. Another story also, of a little girl .. now that's going to break weak hearts but let's be thankful she was saved .. her father threw her into an abandoned well to remarry .. she told people that the reason she survived was for the act of someone's kindness who kept appearing from the shadows in the well after the fall of each evening to hand her a glass of fresh milk then disappear into the shadows. No description was given more than a hand. They were 12 days as I remember reading. The girl could still be alive today for this wasn't way too long ago. God.. watches over us.. sends individuals our ways to help those who deserve his solicitude. I have a story of my own too but keeping it for myself for no one would believe it.. and I understand that. For those who wonder, are we alone.. the hell we are. Ha ha It's just not for humankind to see.. so we'd lead a healthy life and focus on what mattered most. Yet.. sometimes some of us would see or, be seen by "others". Let alone other things that we will never discover or, might have discovered a bit of and reasons to why are known.. greed and misuse like the misuse of black magic to name one thing. God said "And you were not given of knowledge but a little" - Al Isra'a - 85 (Holy Quran)
I have the collection on DVD. I prefer this to Twilight Zone. The aspect of being mostly based on true events makes it superior in my opinion. I like the TZ but One Step Beyond is my favorite.
These shows have the same feel as the science fiction books of the time. A nobility, assumed civility, echos of the American society before the first World War. Actors reflecting a world that collectively went through great suffering together.
@@one-step-beyond-1959 Thank you, for the comment and for the wonderful collection you've made available. I was unaware of this show till I stumbled across your channel.
@@one-step-beyond-1959 Do you think it is weird how polite the people who respond are? It shows a sign of class and sophistication that the younger people no longer have!
Newton Minnow once called TV "a vast wasteland". This was back when shows like "One Step Beyond" and "The Twilight Zone" were broadcast. If he only knew how wrong he was.
Let's call the rare excellent programs oases. Even as corporate media dinosaurs and the American empire die, that vast wasteland nurtures the permanent war state, a grotesque health system, the rest of our death culture, and a whole lotta American lying. Minow was right but he was what the music industry calls a one-hit wonder. He and others didn't sufficiently demand a robust public tv system so we got a very weak ineffectual one that is funded at a fraction of the level it should have been.
Great episode with great acting. Hoping to make a movie before I die. Have been working on a video for over a year and a half and thinking about it for a score. Crossing my fingers you all get to see "Red Socks and a Black Suit"
im really enjoying the show. thank you for uploading it. i had never seen it before. its nice to see men dressed nicely (no boxers showing) and the women are elegant. its hard to pic this being common place. the stories are interesting and believable and i heard some from other sources.
How I would love to have copies of these OSB episodes, I have a program that should improve the quality. But I still enjoy these uploads, great memories, that is when we were allowed to watch.
