Swans fighting at Islandbridge, Dublin 8.

While a group of us were working at the weir at Islandbridge, opposite Trinity Boat Club, I noticed a fight starting off between a pair of swans. So, I got the mobile (cell) phone out and filmed away. The fight lasted for at least ten minutes until one of them got the upper hand. But it did not end there. The victor continued the attack for another ten minutes until we intervened to save the vanquished swan from serious injury or perhaps worse. The aggression from such beautiful birds was surprising, but, apparently, swans are like that when fighting over territory. Andrew was the capable launch driver.
