My Happy Place. My wife and I just did visit number 25 since 2000 in Jan this year . It is what it is... Sometimes one gets lucky and other times not..cats have been scarce in the last 5 years ( done 12 of those visits in that time)compared to the "old days" but the cycle will bring them back....lots of 1st time visitors racing around. expecting it to be like the guidebook and videos looking for lions...we just enjoy whatever we can point a lens at!! Being in an RF bungalow with a fire at sunset makes it all worthwhile... we call the bit between Melkvlei iand Dikbaardskolk the "Doodsakker ", though this Jan it was teeming with game....and hey, you used OUR table at Melkvlei! 🤣 Great video.
Great video, thanks! I love the Kgalagadi! Been three times, and every time without fail I have seen plenty of lion, cheetah and leopard. But also lots of other interesting wildlife such as cape fox, African wildcat, bat-eared fox etc. In two weeks we are heading back to this magical place!
I was lucky enough to discover the Khalagadi in 2011 and we had amazing sightings I am just dying to come back to this wonderful park thanks for sharing
My happy place as well. Was there last year beginning of August and hope to return some day.. But the 11000 km is somewhat of a challenge. Thanks for the nice video!
Thanks so much for that comment. 25 visits almost makes you a “local”😂 You are so right, for us just “being” there, in what is also my happy place, is the prize, everything else is gravy. It seems we like the same table at Melkvlei, we also make a beeline for it when it’s available😅 I’m glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for taking the time for your awesome feedback.
Hi, Thanks for sharing your amazing video and photos. I am planning on visiting Kgalagadi next year. Your video and photos are the best I have seen and gives one a good idea of the game, terrain and vegetation one can expect. I hope you don’t mind me asking what GoPro/video were you using? Thanks in advance and keep up the good filming

It's my happy place too, and I agree, just being there is all the reward I need, the rest is "gravy".

Thank you Ethan, I'm glad you found the video useful. I currently use a Canon R6 Mk2 and a GoPro 12. Also Canon RF lenses.
Hi. Looks like a good break. Could you tell us what month this was.
It was an awesome break, that's for sure, we were there in May 2024.
