Everything about this scene is so badass; the shooting, the acting, the slo-mo at the right times, how they escaped, how Chavez returned with horses, the redemption of our anti-hero gang, hell even smiling at death.
Charlie was ACTUALLY killed in a scenario similar to the Hacienda shoot out in Part II, going out to take fire while the others escaped... where as Doc Scurlock died an old man...

Growing up I spent a lot of my time in Boston Childrens Hospital which is a four drive from where I live. So it was always just my mother and I. On every floor the had a room filled with VHS movies. My mom would go and get a bunch of movies and that’s what we did all day. This was one of my favorites that we would watch. It always makes me smile because it reminds me of my mom. There is no one in this world I admire most. She has been my greatest advocate, my caretaker and protector and my best friend.

Touching how Dirty Steve that always needled Chavez sacrifices himself to save Chavez by getting him back on the horse and yelling at him to go. The overkill with the gatling gun on the defenseless lawyer makes Murphy getting drilled in the forehead that much more satisfying. Jack Palance was made to play a bad guy wearing black.
It was odd that he cheered when Chavez bought the horses back for him then didn’t try and get on Chavez horse. Why did he cheer when chavez came back if he only came back with one horse?

I fn love this movie. The actors the action was perfect and then the ending left your heart pounding. Charlie making a name for himself taken out Kenny like a boss. This movie is like back to the future no matter what part you start watching you’re gonna finish it.
I still have absolutely no idea how we're supposed to believe Chavez just sneaks out undetected when the house is surrounded by at least 100 different lawmen and soldiers. Still, this was my favorite movie as a kid and I still watch it entirely too much
When you were born and raised on a reservation in those days, I’d imagine you would have to learn how to be stealthy and sneak past impossible odds if you wanted to survive. No one was allowed to leave the reservation, not even to get food.
