"La Rondine" is a song written and sang by her father Giuseppe "Pino" Mango, one of the most loved Italian singes ever (and an extraordinary voice). He died while performing at one of his concerts in 2014, the Angelina was only 12 years old. She sang this song as a tribute to him.
Worst part of it is she was there when he died and watched it happen under her eyes; this kid had the courage to get herself back on a stage first and keep on runnin after her dream to be a singer like him and then climb on the sanremo stage and sing this song after that trauma and delivered the best homenage this country has ever delivered to him, and who better than his own daughter after all.

@@sbiribaoyes that's true too; plus they had to deal with some very shite treatement by the press, being nosy and all that, it wasn't easy at all; that only makes me even more proud to see the woman and singer she has grown into; Angelina turned all that trauma into something strong messages to pass around her fans and i think that's beautiful.

During Sanremo Festival, there is always a night dedicated to covers and duets where the artists get to sing the song they want. Angelina chose “La Rondine” wich is one of her late dad’s most famous songs. Her dad, Pino Mango, was an extraordinary artist and unfortunately he passed away in 2014 while performing on stage during one of his concerts, unfortunately 13 years old Angelina was there that night and litterally saw her dad die. All the emotions you feel during this song are 100% true and all Italy was crying in front of the tv because it was such an emotional moment for her and for us all.
Almost every italian who watched this performance cried that night
The quarter of arch that is on the stage with her was the original quartet that the father used in the original version. All those maestro remember Angelina as a little girl when they recorded the master of that song
Italy has recently become the Heaven of music.

That's why she was so emotional while singing ❤ The lyrics talk about someone who's gone away (the swallow is a metaphor), maybe forever but maybe not ("forse un addio o forse no") because this person is in the "wrong sky" (sei nel cielo sbagliato"). This is the reason why it is La Noia and not La Rondine the song that won SanRemo and will represent Italy for Eurovision 2024. This song was written and performed by her father, Pino Mango, an Italian singer we lost ... and talks about loosing a beloved person. “La noia” was the song competing for Sanremo. But 1 of the 5 evenings of Sanremo (always the 4th one) is dedicated to covers. The singers must present reinterpretations of somebody’s else songs. And Angelina chose to present a song from her passed away dad, who was a very talented, poetic, delicate, beloved and known artist. “La Rondine” was not the competing song.

This song was written and sung by her father so it is not a new song; for Sanremo competition i'is possible to sing only unreleased pieces (like "La noia" is) but for only one night the singers can sing the song that they prefer, so Angelina chose "La Rondine" (The Swallow) as a tribute to her father Pino.

La Rondine is a bird the name in english is the swallow, she sang this song that is her dad song she sang it to pay homage to her dad, i am itailian

For Sanremo you have to bring new songs. La noia is new, never heard or sang before in public. La Rondine is an old song written be her father. It cant be presented inside the contest. Angelina sang it in the cover nomight as a tribute for her father who died because of a heart attack he had while he was performing in a concert. He had an incredible beatiful voice. All Italy cried hearing Angelina while she sang La rondine.

This song didn’t won Sanremo because only new songs can run for the competition - like “La noia”. This song, on the other hand, was the one she sang during the “covers night” of Sanremo, where all singers can bring a cover of another artist (even though they are not running with that song in the competition). She brought this specific cover because the original one is written and sung by her father Pino Mango, a famous Italian artist who died performing during a concert when she was around 12.
